Halo 4 EXP Problems?

Hello, I started playing Halo 4 about 3 days ago and I’ve seen some codes that can give you EXP and bones things. When I do put the code I do receive them but what I want to know is where do they go? I’m not sure they go to my character leveling exp seen as I didn’t level up at all! Also with the challenges I didn’t receive them at all? So where does the EXP go?

I know I din’t reach my limit seeing as I still play matches and earn exp for my character.

which codes are you talking about specifically. some you can put in from the terminals in anniversary which gives you xp for reach. the rest do give you xp in halo 4 even if you have hit max, havnt picked your next specialization, or even maxed out. also. you do get the xp from challenges they just dont show up in the after game report.
