Halo 4 ending pulling an ME3.

This is just a fun topic for discussion. I was reading IGN about all the negativity being one of the reasons Bioware founders left. Got me thinking.

What kind of ending do you think it would take for Halo 4 to pull an ME3 ending? In other words, what could 343i do with the ending of Halo 4 that would just make you (and the Halo community) outraged and upset?

The Chief dies from an explosion. You get to CHOOSE the color.

The difference between Halo 4 and ME3 is that Halo 4 is the BEGINNING of a Trilogy, and not the ENDING.

Halo 4 isn’t expected to leave us with closure, it’s expected to leave us with questions.

ME3’s ending basically left everyone going “What?” It was short, didn’t close off the story appropriately with the characters and events throughout the series. And you had no idea if anything you did counted.

Thankfully the Extended ending provided SOME of what we desired from the ending, even if it still isn’t perfect, I’d say the game would get less hate if the Extended ending was there to begin with.

Halo 4 is MEANT to end like that though, as if a small fight is over, but a greater one is still looming overhead. And you’re not supposed to be sure if the Galaxy is safe yet or not. Where in ME3 we should have been made clear if our actions saved the Galaxy, or just screwed them over anyway.

Lets just not even go there. K?

The ending would have to be less epic than Halo 3 to annoy me.

Doesn’t matter, awesome game anyway.

> The ending would have to be less epic than Halo 3 to annoy me.

Thankfully that won’t be too hard to accomplish.

So you want chief to shoot the child?

It’ll be hard to top Mass Effect 3’s ending in terms of how bad it is. Hopefully everyone learned a lesson from that whole fiasco.

But it is the start of a new trilogy, so I think it should probably leave us with cliffhangers and questions, as opposed of a whole fustercluck of confusion like the Mass Effect 3 ending did.

Continuing the story beyond Halo 6 would be a turn off for me.

They pretty much can’t do that with Halo 4. The reason there was outrage over the ME3 ending is because it was the end of a story arc, and there was finality. This could only, and probably will, happen with Halo 6.

The Didact is a really this holographic ten year old who basically says;

“Hey, remember all those important things you did throughout this entire series? Well, push all of that under the rug. Now, which type of galactic damnation and suicide method do you want?”

I really can’t argue with that. In terms of endings
I saw it like this:

Halo CE > Reach > ODST > 2 > 3

Halo CE had an open ending but it was a definite ending for the game. Halo Reach left off to the beginning of Reach’s opening of the foreshadowed death. Also leading into CE’s opening was a nice touch which I found acceptable. ODST’s ending tying into Halo 3’s beginning was also pretty neat…but Halo 2’s cliffhanger was by the worst IMO, but Bungie dun goofed so they had to split the story and make a sequel so I found it acceptable.

Halo 3’s ending was just another, even worse, cliffhanger that basically had Bungie say “hey guys, we lied about the fight being finished!” Also being lost in space in cryo in a half-torn ship was a big let-down for me in terms of Chief’s supposed last game. IDK, perhaps my expectations were too high.

But atleast H3’s ending wasnt nearly as bad as ME3’s.

But yeah, I’ll rage if the ending is worse than either ME3’s or H3’s.

As long as there’s no space magic, it’ll be fine.

Cortana is reborn, you choose her colour of her hair.

You get to choose between 3 different endings!

1: Chief destroys the Ancient Evil but has to kill all synthetic life and Cortana.

2: Chief takes control of the Ancient Evil but in return loses everything he has.

3: Chief merges all life in the Galaxy with the Ancient Evil.

All endings result in the death of Master Chief, the destruction of all space-faring technology, and the firing of the Halo Array.

ENJOY!

> Fixed.

I would choose the pink ending!
