In the legendary ending of Halo 4 I discovered that for the first time ever a part of the Master chief’s face is visible. This is not in itself bad but He looks too old even by universe standards
For example, Doctor Halsey ho must be at least 30 years older than the chief still seems to be fit and rocking. Also in the live action movie Forward Unto Dawn [ yeah the one where Chief actually introduces himself as a rank,(totally taking out the fun in his rank-name thing being a result of legendary status and making it just some dumb thing he likes)] when Fred [ bless his wonderful face] and the female spartan take their helmets off they look just about the same age as lasky. So why in hell would these spartans who must age slower and have spent considerable time in cryosleep, have crows eyes when lasky looks nineteen. Really Its no big deal. Maybe it was just the lighting in the norman- {sorry} infinity the greatest flagship of humanity
Doesn’t look that old. Even then, he has been through a lot, I doubt he is going to have a perpetually young face.
Eyes can always throw off one’s look. I hope the rest of his face is more, well, younger.

He was born in 2511. He is about 41 at the end of Halo 4 and has been through stressful situations but he is getting up there.

To add on to this…Forward Unto Dawn takes place in 2526, making the John 15 years old at the time. Fred and Kelly are close in age to John, so of course they appear young.
Isn’t John like, in his 40’s or something? I’m guessing he’s like 46, by the year 2557 if you do the math.
2557 - 2511 = 46
Those eyes, I’d say they’re deceiving, he’s not that old.
The stress of a lifetime of war and constant combat has possibly taken it’s toll on him.
And let’s not forget he had some form of genetic alteration performed on him by the Librarian. The Didact’s mutations certaintly didn’t improve his looks, I doubt the Chief fared that much better.
I read a book once about a guy who died of a heart attack at the age of 26. He fought in the civil war and enter at a young age because he was really tall when young so no one realized he was only 15. When he did die he looked older then my 86 year old grandfather looked when he died. The war was so stressful on him that he looked old.
I’m sure this war has been hard on 117 and has aged him a little more then one might think he should look.

Master Chief was born on 2511 whereas Halo 4 took place during 2557.
This means that John is 46 years old. Due to the effects of cryosleep his bodily functions and physical feats were mostly preserved, however his facial structure was not as lucky. Chief was fighting battles for around 20 years, obviously all the stress, anger, sorrow, and etc would take its toll on his face. These most likely caused the wrinkles and features that we saw on his face. 46 years old + 20 years of fighting would not help you look like Ellen.
This is all my point of view, I’m sure someone else could give a better and more exact answer.
He’s been listening to Cortana nag all that time too. I appeared to age about ten years just from the segments where she yelled crazy -Yoink- at me and made me walk slow think about all of the time in between games she did that.

seems legit
on topic: why should he look younger in the first place? he’s soon 50 years old and all the stress of war etc should be visible on his face. I like what we saw from him so far
I guess that the demands of universe-saving don’t really leave a lot of time for a good moisturizing regimen.

You have to subtract the amount of time spent in cryo, which is probably pushing 6-8 total years by my estimation.

why does he look old
moi il me faut que une mission est j’ai terminer
The Chief is like 50 years old. Give him a break!
It’s not all that weird. Cortana started going senile when she was seven.
