HALO 4 EARLY PLAY

Hello I’m hoping someone from micosoft can answer me this, there is a game shop where i live (I won’t mention it’s name)they always sell there games early at a cost extra £5 on top of the retail price. anyway my question is will i get banned if i play this early. I know alot of people are being banned for playing pirate copies weeks/month early. i know everyone will be saying ooh don’t risk it but come on guys if you got a copy 1-2 days early want would you do.

I’m assuming you should just wait to play it.

Microsoft is handing out lifetime bans for anyone caught with it early.

I wouldn’t trifle with that, unless you don’t mind losing an account.

It’s a risk you take… but I’m sure you won’t get banned.

I received Halo 3:ODST a day early and immediately went online and completed Co-op Campaign. I had several friends on my list that were playing and none of us were banned, so i’m thinking that it’ll be cool to play a day or two early.

Just play the campaign offline untill the 6th, and also don’t login online untill the 6th just to be safe.

Just wait the extra 1-2 days like the rest of us. You never know if you’d get banned or not, and Microsoft doesn’t lift lifetime bans.

As with all Halo releases, it’s leaked early and people have the same concern.

When it gets to about a week before, a lot of shops start selling early. Like with all releases, people who legally purchase the game early will be allowed to play. Theres a chance that matchmaking wont be offline until release though.

I’m pretty sure Reach had a good few thousand early players in the days leading up to its launch.

TL;DR - Play it, it will be fine.

I am not sure why people are voting and telling people if they get it early, play right away. Nuh uh. Listen to the mods here on the forums they’ll tell you ‘play until the game comes out on Nov 6th like everyone else’. Play it safe peeps. Don’t play early unless you wanna get a yellin from 343. We have had enough people spoiling stuff for us. It’s been a sad 2 weeks for us Halo fans. I’m disappointed how the poll turned out here. How sad people telling others to play it early right away if they get the game 2 days early. Play the game like everyone else until Nov 6th.

You will not be banned for playing a real copy early.

And the people who say play offline are also wrong in the fact that playing offline wouldn’t stop a ban as MS record console info when your offline and upload it when you log into xbox live so you would still be banned.

If they didnt want people playing a couple of days early they just wouldnt have matchmaking activated.

Paying more to get a game early? If that is true that store better watch out. That absolutely can’t be legal anywhere in the world. They are making money off of nothing and breaking street date.

Can they technically blame us that said retailer sold it early?
I would assume not.

I would play it right away regardless.
I had a few friends playing H3 a few days before release because Amazon sent them out too early, nothing happened to them.

1 Day would be okay because in NZ playing at midnight release would be like a day before the US.

They cant ban you if there’s another 50,000 people playin it, and anyway I got reach a couple of days early and was fine same as people with Cod etc I’m just goin straight for multipler, they can’t expect us to pre order a game and as soon as it comes not play it : P

Playing the game a few days before official release should be fine, i always receive games a day early and its all good, the shop is definitely breaking the law though lol

What you said made absolutely no sense. You are arguing and complaining about people playing early yet you said “Play the game like everyone else until Nov 6th.” That kind of goes against what your saying. So this is nonsensical. And what mods have said not to play till the 6th? If anything they’re all going to have the game before us. Because they’re badasses and know this stuff.

There will be thousands of people online the weekend before release (3rd/4th etc) as with every major game release. You will be perfectly fine to play it as soon as you receive it, Microsoft know that official legit copies will begin distribution over the next week or two so many people will get it early.

Enjoy

i got to play it
its good and im good at it i won a Halo 4 FFA Tournament

if its an actuall real gaming establishment and they got it from microsoft then it will be fine, some people are getting theirs a day early or so and microsoft has stated to them that they can play it but multiplayer might be turned of till launch.

I would play it right away but with how Microsoft is as of right now i think it would be best if you played it offline at least until November 6th… Just to be safe Id hate to have you get banned for actually buying the game.

No one’s picking up on this? If a game store is deliberately selling games earlier in exchange for some extra profit, they are breaking the street date and therefore selling you the game illegally.
The only valid reasons people should be receiving the game early would be if they are reviewing it and have been provided a copy by Microsoft, work for Microsoft or 343i, won a legitimate competition or ordered the game online or another method that meant it would be shipped to their home. The last one is the most common and it’s only because the retailers need to allow ample time for the game to arrive with you.

If you’re buying Halo 4 or any other game from this store, you are effectively buying the game illegally. I’d start buying my games elsewhere if I were you.
