Halo 4 Duel Wielding Patch/Update

Hello again Halo4rum!

Now duel wielding in Halo was a really fun thing to do, it may not have always been good thing in combat but it just added that little bit more of diversity and… fun,

Now, I think it would be a good idea to update Halo 4 with Duel Wielding. But before you say anything, read how I think it will work and be a positive addition to gameplay.

1. Only the sidearms/handguns can be Duel Wielded
2. When Duel Wielding, the standard reticles will be twice as large
3. When Duel Wielding, each gun is half as accurate
4. When Duel Wielding, reload time will be 50% longer
5. When Duel Wielding Boltshots, you cannot charge burst fire
6. When Duel Wielding Plasma Pistols, EMP shots will be 25% less effective
7. When Duel Wielding Magnums, you look 100% more cooler

Now with those criteria in place, I don’t see any reason to why Duel Wielding will be a bad thing. We can only wish for 343 to keep getting better and better by updating Halo 4 with fresh new/old additions to keep us having fun.

If you’re interested in seeing what Halo 4 would like like when you’re Duel Wielding Magnums, watch up to 0:45 seconds in of this video to see me Duel Wielding in Halo 4, just letting you all know outright: What you see is not a hack or mod - That’s all i’m telling you

And discuss! C:

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!!!

I don’t like dual wielding, never have, never will

Highlighted this be because the whole point of duel wielding is to double your firepower but at the cost of accuracy and ability to aim.

Yes put in back in H5…it wasn’t unbalanced in H3 imo.

Dual-wielding is a lot of fun to do in Halo 2 and 3, but it would require a massive amount of work to implement it in Halo 4. 343 would literally have to change the core gameplay for dual-wielding.

If 343 can do it, then they should. But before that, they seriously need to address all the complaints about sprint, weapon spawns, etc. first. Also, I disagree with the bullet about power because that kind of eliminates the point of dual-wielding. Why do it if your damage is reduced when you can have just one gun with better accuracy and good base damage?

You’d be better off just using a single gun.

How did you duel wield those pistols in the video and in the thumbnail of the video you were duel wielding pistols. How did you do that?

Double reticle size, half as accurate and less damage? How would be able to hit anyone? Let alone kill them.

I have an idea. How about 343i uses their time and resources to fix everything broken about the game before adding more unneeded things like dual wielding? Seems like a much better idea to me.

I’d rather they focus on Halo Xbox One, in my opinion Halo 4 is in a stable state at the moment, it’s best to have Halo Xbox One as complete as possible

I’m not Sage bro, i’m not the nerfing king they’re only suggestions. (:

This sounds like an amazzing idea that they should patch into halo 4 to make the game more intersting and a great deal of fun to the game

I’d say he used the Forge green screen with the magnum and mirrored it to the side to make it look like he’s holding two.

If Wangtim3 says so, sure yeah!

I personally hated:

-how the weapons were reduced in size scale for dual wielding
-how the weapons were nerfed in damage for dual wielding

You haven’t suggested those, so I have no issues.

But if they can give me back the CE plasma rifle and CE Needler, I’d love it!

Dual wielding probably still exists in the game. Reach was built on Halo 3, and as a result dual wielding could be enabled. Halo 4 is built on Halo: Reach (moreso than Reach was built on 3 - there are loads of leftovers), so I’d consider it likely that dual wielding is still supported by the engine.

That said, proper animations for dual wielding certainly don’t exist.

This is not going to happen. It’s best to just leave Halo 4 as it is and focus on the next Halo game.

Having two SMG’s increased in spamming capacity isn’t good for the game, regardless of how it is executed.

Having two Pistols is less detrimental, but is still pointless. It removes the need to learn how to use grenades properly while not adding any new skills. If someone can aim a single weapon, they can aim two as well.

If it was limited to Handguns and was able to be disabled, perhaps. But it’s still unnecessary effort.

Is it possible to do it? Yes.

Will they do it? Probably not since there is another Halo game for the Xbox1 coming out sometime next year.

But making the reticles twice as large, and then make the guns half as accurate already? No. I’d rather just stick to just my Magnum and Frags, or a Charged-Boltshot if the only range this feature is good for is within face stabbing range.

You can’t just add an entirely new gameplay mechanic with a patch. They’d have to re-write the entire engine (yes, even for just a minor addition), meaning they’d basically have to re-release the game.

Can they tune existing features, such as weapon damage? Sure. But they can’t add additional features. It’s just not feasible.
