Before you all start reading I dont know if this topic has been posted before or not its my first time posting in halo waypoint(not counting the one where I asked for help.
I thing there should be a update where you can wield double weapons in Halo 4 campaign and spartan ops. Halo 2 and 3 had it(dont know about the first one) it would be nice having it.
The code for duel wielding is in there but they need to focus on balancing the non duel wields before they flood the close-range weapons.

The problem with dual wielding is that it forcefully imbalances weaponry. Example: if one SMG is balanced, and can play a decent role in it’s niche in the sandbox, two SMGs will be overpowered. If two SMGs are balanced, and fill that role nicely, one SMG will be underpowered.
When it all comes down to it, dual wielding was a gimmick Halo can do without. The only way I can see it implemented is if dual SMGs (or whatever weapon it may be) is considered as one weapon i.e. you have a DMR and weapon switch to two SMGs. As in Halo 2 and 3, prevent grenade throwing and melee attacks, but give them a faster kill time than other automatic weaponry. That would be fine.
I agree, put it into campaign and Spartan Ops. But if it’s in multiplayer, only allow the Magnum and PP to be duel wielded. Boltshot is OP enough already.
Customs: You don’t know how please the customs community, forge community and theater/machinima community will get simply from allowing duel wielding in customs.
Think about it this way.
Customs and Forge: So, SOOOO many custom game variants open up, and with that comes amazing map design.
Machinima: Duel wielding will be amazing. Again, so many things open up. For me, I would love to see duel wielded swords; I’d turn that into a machinima minutes after 343 updates it like that.
So, yeah! Id love it in Campaign, Spartan Ops, those 2 because it’s purely fun and doesn’t affect balance. Online? Not so much, maybe in some form of Fiesta Slayer; Customs? HECK YES!!!
