one thing that concerns me is that when halo 4 is settled in into the gaming world and people start playing it is that halo 4 stats will just dominate the service record. Just look at what they did to Halo wars, it gets a little mention but it doesn’t work. Taking that into account whats 343 going to do about the bungie games? Acknowledge them slightly but divert people away towards h4. Halo 3 had a proper online service record back in the days of bungie.net and that’s been reduced to multiplayer rank and campaign. (Although it can been seen on the original site still - not updated :/)
I’m up for halo 4, I think its going to be great, but that doesn’t mean that these games should be forgotten.
we all know that 343 is trying to shake off the ‘bungie’ element to halo so can you see this happening? Everything worked towards on halo reach - forgotten.

Well they’ve redone everything, I’m not saying its a good or bad thing, just something to take note of. Also being their first game they have to make their mark so could you really see them keeping the stats of games that don’t belong to them.
343 regularly mentions bungie and the old halo games in their documentary style videos… a lot of the 343 team are x-bungie and what they said they are doing is instead of revolutionizing halo and making a complete overhaul they are rather evolving the game which lets face it does need changing i mean i love it its my favorite game (halo 3)but i need something different and exciting to keep me interested. AND 343 went and redid combat evolved now that shows a love for the series and respect for bungie wouldnt u say?

Not really. You can literally count on one hand how many ex-Bungie employees work at 343.
343i are trying to bring their own spin to the series, they’re not trying to throw away everything that Bungie did - you only have to listen to their making of videos to know they care deeply about the series.
