But halo reach sure did. All people did was throw grenades! I’m glad people actually choose to use there weapon.
I personally enjoyed the grenades in Halo Reach, they are completely useless in Halo 4 unless you use frags with the explosives perk or plasma’s to stick to warthogs or last ditch throw before dying at a player to stick. Otherwise useless.

Why?
They were never a problem if you were paying attention (unless their entire team threw one then no matter what you are dead.) But they actually had a use and you didnt need some dumb perk to make them effective.

The topic at hand my friend. Grenade spam. Reach was constantly a spawn and chuck grenade fest. They would kill you at distance with half shields. It was absurd. I find the grenades in Halo 4 to be perfectly useful when you know what you’re doing. Bounce them into peoples faces. It works wonders.
IMO grenades need a buff, Reach nailed it and it’s sad to see them change.
Grenades should be as viable an option as your gun or melee depending on the situation. If you’re getting pegged by a DMR and the opponent had the first hit you should be able to take a risk at throwing a perfect grenade at his feet for a kill. That’s the risk/reward we need back and the perfect triangle of melee/grenade/guns. Melee has also been nerfed because of the boltshot which is another issue.

It didn’t take much to be “good” at throwing the grenukes in Reach, I’m SO happy H4 went back to grenades like those in H3. A lot less nade spamming and more focus on using an actual weapon, not a crutch like overpowered nades.

Hell I must have been lucky the only time I saw people grenade spam was when there was a room full of the other team. But in general I never had a problem with grenade spam. I quite like having a grenade that I know will cause damage, instead I have a rock that will eventually explode in a very small radius.

How about throwing a grenade cross map on spire too get that pesky sniper you couldnt get too? I never used them as a crutch I used them as needed and didnt -Yoink- one out every time I died. They were a useful tool too have when you couldnt get into a room filled with enemies. Or when there was a guy with a precision rifle shooting at you, just lob one at him and either a) it kills him or b) he runs from it and gives you a chance to close the distance.
They were useful and in the right hands(not just spamming them when ever you felt like it) a nice way to turn the tide of a fight or to move up and close the distance.

There’s more nade spam in this than there was in Reach. You should be able to only spawn with one unless you’re using the grenadier perk.
The Reach grenades were cheaper though, but not as spammed.
Because I don’t use the perk, I don’t grab extra nades from downed friends and foe. Therefore, zero grenade spamming from me.
Yea, you need the resupply mod to be a nade spammer. I never really run into people who use resupply.
Btw, Pulse grenades are great when you learn how to kill with them.
I thought I would hate the lack of grenade pickup in H4 but I’ve come to really enjoy it. Grenade spamming with this kind of frenetic gameplay would have been worse than all the gripes on this forum put together. Of all time.
Tangent 1: I liked Reach’s grenades. They were like, you know… grenades.
Tangent 2: If I could change one thing about H4’s grenades it would be to buff the EMP of the Pulse Grenade.

Plasma kids are the new Reach spammers. No wait, they’re probably the same kids who can’t aim and have to rely on grenades with stupidly high BM.
