First off, let me just say this is just my opinion on the matter of how I currently feel on the game. I’ve been a veteran of Halo since CE, and honestly, I hate what 343 made halo 4 into. Its just disgusting what they’ve done to such a great game. 343 said they were listening to us fan’s about making this game, but now I know that’s just a cold hearted lie. No die hard Halo fan would ever request this game to be somethings its not. I mean, has anyone ever seen a 343 employee ever post on someone else’s topic?
Im just going to point out the problems I currently have for this game.
Campaign
- Story line was dull and short
- Their was no real mission that stuck out to be my favorite
- Your always in the need for ammo, no point in carrying a UNSC weapon since your basically going to be using Forerunner weapons most of the time.
- Boss battle was boring and not challenging at all.
- Cortana can manifest into a physical form? What the hell?
- Campaign felt like it was moving to fast. You start off on the forward unto dawn, then on Requiem, then installation 03, and then the forerunner ship. It would have been fine normally to jump onto those levels, but for me it felt like it went to those part’s far to quickly.
- Animation was a bit repetitive. Always jacking in Cortana in the same machine, Clicking the same button to open doors, yada yada. Other than that, I liked it.
Multiplayer
- Weapons feel unbalanced
- You don’t descope when getting shot at
- Feels like the game is about dying more than getting kills
- Team work feels extinguished
- Joining in mid game sessions. I hate getting losses this way. Its completely unfair to join a team that is getting obliterated and just getting a loss because of them.
- Instant respawn, no need for that. You kill someone, they just end up spawning right next to you to finish you off.
- Kill cams. I really don’t care for these, but if your going to put them in the game at least make it where it doesn’t lag.
- Fighting for map control is the thing of the past.
- SR rank? Wtf? What ever happened to the classic emblem ranks to go with it? I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’d prefer Reach’s ranking system than this.
- Medals suck now. You basically get a medal for doing nothing, and they’re also unnoticeable. In past halo’s you’d notice every medal you’d get, now you barley even notice that you got one because of them being so tiny.
- Crouch button is disregarded, not much people remember to use it, even I keep on forgetting its there unless I’m trying to be sneaky.
- No human aircraft? Not even the hornet/falcon?
- Graphics are not as great as everyone thought they would be
- You barley take notice to what the person is wearing in game.
- Tactical packages and support upgrades. Why the hell do we need to have a perk to pick up grenades from dead bodies?
- Ordinance… The way for everyone to have a good power weapon.
- New menu’s are just atrocious, I can’t stand it. They should have taken notes on how Reach’s were.
- Unlocking armor is just boring. It would have been more fun to buy armor than to just give it to everyone who has that rank.
- Unlocking emblems? Just… Why?
- Grenades -.- … You can’t even see them, no wonder why they added a grenade indicator.
- Always getting your kills taken and just getting massive amounts of assists.
- Once again, game is about who plays more, not about skill.
- Max rank is 50. What happens after we get 50 and all the specializations? What’s next for us?
- Overall, multiplayer just feel’s awful and nothing like Halo.
Now I understand many of you are going to point out the flaws of what I’ve said, and that’s fine go ahead and correct me I don’t mind. Its just that I’ve been waiting for this game, hoping for it to be just outstanding, something for us veteran players to get back into and just have massive amounts of fun just like the good old days. I tried to stay patient for so long, trying not to judge the game to harsh because of what other’s have been saying, “You can’t judge the game because you haven’t even played it yet.” And they were right. But now I’ve played it, and honestly I’m very disappointed on what I’ve played.
