Halo 4 DMR is FINE!!!!

I dont understand why so many want it to be nerfed? Honestly Halo 4 captures more of the multiplayer spirit of Halo CE than any of the other Halo’s. With PV camping is DEAD! No more noobs hiding around corners with shotguns, and if it does happen to you then that’s your fault for not looking. There is no more hiding just fast skillful encounters.

The DMR now allows 1 v 2 to not always be a guaranteed death sentence like it was in reach since a skilled player can quickly dispatch an enemy and prepare to fight another. People need to face facts, Halo had to go back to the fast Halo CE kill times in order to keep up with COD. And look at the result! Halo is doing better than ever!

TLDR
the strong DMR is necessary to keep up fast kill times. This new DMR hearkens back to the Halo CE pistol and is by no means easy to use in CQB vs an AR or midrange VS a BR. People who want it nerfed either need to adapt or go back to Halo reach.

Fast skillful kill times and encounters are the order of the day!

No, no it’s not.

The thing pretty much automatically gives you the headshot at mid and close range. It’s a piss-easy gun to use and only out-classes the others because its bullet magnetism is broken to hell.

While I agree with the basis of your post, I don’t think it’s fair to say that H4 is doing better than all other Halos based on it’s online numbers during the release week.

I think it’s the best Halo since H2 atm but that’s just me :).

People seem to forget (the ones that want the DMR nerfed) that at anything but long range, the AR and the BR really punish a DMR user that misses even one shot. This type of sandbox balancing is very much like the sandbox in CE and I, for one, really, really like it.

Now if they could just give us custom game CTF options…

The DMR is not overpowered, just slightly unbalanced. It is faster to kill people with it than the BR/Carbine/LightRifle. It also fires the slowest, so it’s understandable why it’s so powerful.

Still, as long as you have good accuracy, which most players do, it IS the best weapon to use. And for that, it is unbalanced. They should probably make it fire even slower to balance it out.

However, I think that the main issue is that the LightRifle is so underpowered. It’s supposed to be like a combination of the BR and DMR, but it sucks on both accounts. It needs a buff.

I haven’t had any problems with the DMR users. Usually, the one using the BR gives me problems…

I would have to say that I haven’t met very good users of the DMR close range, they all just panic when I use the AR

I do agree with the people who are saying it’s OP, especially on long range maps, like on Ragnorok. Everyone uses the DMR instead of anything else.

It needs a slight nerf but nothing major, it should be in the same level as a zoomed in LR.

The only people who demand it nerfed are the BR kids who are mad that their gun isn’t the broken god gun it used to be. DMR is pretty well balanced, and if you miss your last shot, you die.
I’m honestly more shocked that people aren’t complaining about the AR being too powerful(although it desperately needed that power boost).

I agree with your topic but that’s about it. Since when does 1.81 seconds (approximate kill time of the DMR) equal 0.86 (approximate kill time of Halo 1 Pistol)?
