I made this thread because halo reach had only one playlist for all of the map packs which is ridiculous. Now i’m pretty sure a handful of people are going to buy the Halo 4 limited edition and a handful will get the standard edition, which means that the people with LE have slim odds of getting matchmade with people that also have the LE. So i hope 343 has a good bunch of playlist’s for the people who will be getting the 3 bonus maps included with LE, i don’t want a repeat of reach.
So what playlist’s would you like to be included with the bonus maps?
I believe you don’t actually get the Map DLC in the LE your just pre-paying for it so you get it right away when it does come out to the General Audience.
It would be nice if you bought the DLC that you get matched up with players who also bought the DLC. I’m not talking about a DLC required playlist, I’m talking about the regular playlists.
A ranked and social DLC playlist with all other maps included in the playlist that aren’t DLC. So were are not separated from the chance of not getting any map in the game to play.

You get the maps for free when they come out. You don’t get them right away
Concept that there would be few playslists for DLC-maps + there would be dlc-maps in standard matchmaking for people who has them, sounds really cool. Just almost like it is in Reach, but it doesn’t work! Only one DLC playlist, it’s hard to play FFA, normal team games + big team battle in one playlist. And it is Vanilla Reach! There are maps on standard matchmaking but I have to say, I have encountered just one time a DLC-map ever on matchmaking, and that’s ridiculous! I hope, it works in Halo 4

Technically with the ‘new’ join in session in multiplayer matchmaking DLC playlists aren’t required, as the existing system might actually work. In reach all playlists can use DLC if all players own it. now we can join in session we can join an active game already playing the map pack.
I also think 343 MUST add a DLC option in the preferences menu for this to work effectively. People have asked for it for months so would make perfect sense to be implemented now.

I think the people who pre-order the LE actually get early-access to the DLC.ž

If I am, indeed, right, then I don’t know the ideal solution to OP’s question. Perhaps they could add a playlist for those who have LE with all other maps included as well, and remove it once they start releasing the DLC for other people. However, I am not sure how it would work since not all 3 DLC get released at the same time. xD
Just make a playlist where all DLC is required but it’s not only DLC maps… So you’ll always have the possibility of DLC maps and you don’t have to change playlist just because you want to play some other maps.

The DLC will be be free if you get LE but not early acsessable
I hope not, I can see for like the first couple of weeks but in the long run people will need to buy the maps or they wont be able to play certain playlist that Require the maps, and even than that’s not that bad
They should just make everyone have all the DLC in order to play in MM. That would solve the problem and also allow them to get more money and force us to pay for the map packs (which don’t cost much anyway but add a lot to the game)
