First and formost I play the Halo games because I really enjoy them. Once I go through and beat the games I sit back and try to go through any achievements I might of missed along the way. So I went through all of Halo 4 and all I had left was the matchmaking achievements to complete. Well, ok I still have that pesky one where you have to keep all your marines alive, but I will get it eventually.
Anyways, I decided I like this game enough to shell out the extra money to buy all of the dlc map packs and such and you know what, they hardly ever come up and when they do I am spending time getting used to the maps and getting killed. I know that all parties have to have the maps to be able to play it, but can’t they have a selection of dlc maps. I know they used to because I was watching a achievement hunter tutorial on some of the majestic map pack achievements and I could see the screen showing all the game types that where available. Among the list of the usual team slayer, big team battles, and the like there was one listed at Majestic dlc’s. Come on I know there is no refunds once you purchase dlc map packs, but how greedy is 343 industries to take your money and not hardly ever allow you to play the maps your paided for. This is like going to the gas station and putting $20 bucks in the tank, only instead of the continuous flow of gas flowing through the line, there are big (I mean really big), air pockets in the line. So when all is said and done, you pay $20 bucks for $20 buck worth of game and you really only get like $1.26 worth of gas. And you complain the gas station personnel and they are like well that is how it goes, sometimes the pumps pump more gas. And you are like ohhh, ok. See ya later mack and have a great day. Then you find yourself broke down out of gas up the road a bit.
Please 343 industries or microsoft or whoever, let’s get these maps available all the time. People are paying for them to play them, not just for achievements sake, but they are fun too. I would have like to contact the appropriate person directly for this, but unfortunately there don’t seem to be any way of contacting someone personally, I guess the gas station attendant is away from the counter.
I really look forward to hearing people response to this and hopefully someone who is involved with the decision making about such issues reads this and is in agreement so we can get things changed, because I for one will not be purchasing any more dlc’s in fear of this same thing happening.
