While trying to play the campaign, the game error “This disc is unreadable” occurs.
It has happened at different points but it is always before or after a cut scene. Originally I was trying to play co op campaign with a friend online and as soon as we went to start, it would freeze at the beginning of the blue and white load screen, then give me the error and send me back to dashboard.
Sometimes it would actually load the first video but as soon as it got to the end of that cutscene the error would happen again.
Tried to play solo and ran into the same problems.
After several attempts I was able to finally get to play the first level up to the point where you are getting sucked into the planet. Screen says Halo 4 and then locks up and throws the error again.
Down loaded the latest update and cleared my cache this morning and the game loaded up at the last checkpoint. Played through to the same point and it locked up again.

Old style white xbox
Disc 1 and 2 both downloaded to a USB thumb stick
Cleared cache
Multiplayer war games plays with no problem
Other games play without issue
Do not want to try spartan ops with out playing the campaign first.
Please let me know how I can fix this. I have been anxiously awaiting the release of this game and it is very disappointing for the campaign not to be working.
I know others are experiencing this same problem but I have not seen a fix for it so far.
Thanks you all your hard work. I know you are trying to sift through all the new release issues as quickly as you can. From what I have been able to play so far, the game is freaking amazing.
I look forward to playing the rest soon.
