Halo 4 Disc 2

I understand that Halo 4 comes with 2 discs
Disc 1 have Campaign, War Games, Forge, Spartan Ops and Theater and Disc 2 only contains data that will need to be installed in the storage device in order to play the multiplayer
That’s what I understand so what I think is that basicly after you install Disc 2 you will only need Disc 1 to play the whole.
Still I see people on internet who claims that you DON’T need to install the second disc since you can play multiplayer from Disc 2 but I think that is wrong as, as far as I know, Disc 2 only contains data, it is not executable.
I recall “that is what I think”, I’m not a computer expert but I do think you do need to install the Disc 2 to play multiplayer on Disc 1.
So I wanted to came here to see if you people of Waypoint can clarify all this stuff for me…
Do you need to install Disc 2 to play Multiplayer YES OR NO?
Can you play multiplayer from Disc 2? and if you can, can you play it without install it?
I just want to make sure if I’m right in what I think.
If there is already a topic about this I would apreciate if you can redirect me to it.

The installation of disc two is required, and it is useless after the installation is complete.

Now, that’s as far as I’m aware. I’ve been told this by multiple forum members, I can’t guarantee it’s right.

Just don’t chunk disc 2 in the trash after you install it

You do need Disc Two to play Multiplayer, it acts just like the Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack disc, you can’t play anything off it, it is just an installation disc.

If you are on disc one and haven’t installed disc two, you will just get ‘Players failed to load content’ in the Multiplayer menus.

Disc 1 contains campaign ONLY.
Disc 2 contains everything about MP: Spartan Ops, War Games, Forge and Theater

If you play from disc 1 you will only be able to play Campaign since its the only feature the disc contains.
That’s why you need to install the Disc 2, to launch the MP from disc 1.

And unfortunately no, you won’t be able to launch the MP from disc 2, it’s a mandatory install

Sounds a little like Forza 4 and the ODST multiplayer disk.

I’m glad its an install and not just a separate disc for MP, as dealing disc would get annoying

Yes that’s exactly the same example I was thinking about

war games and Spartan ops can be found in the market place for free so If you lose disc 2 you can get them for there

Please don’t revive old topics, thanks.
