Halo 4: Disc 2 Question??

So guys, im a tad confused. If you want to play multiplayer, do you have to have disc 2 in , or is it a bit like Forza 3 where it installs the multiplayer content, and then you can play it of the first disc? I.e: If im playing campaign and want multiplayer, do I have to switch discs?

It’s like Forza I believe,

Info here for you.

I’m not sure about this but if you install 2 disks, you only need one to play forge, campaign, CG and multiplayer.

I’m 99.9% sure that disc one is the only disc you need in to enjoy the entirety of the game. The menu has two options - Campaign and Infinity. If you click on Infinity, the game gives you two choices.

1.) Download and Install Multiplayer from Xbox Live
2.) Insert Disc 2 and Install Multiplayer from Disc 2

Once that is done, you can just jump straight into multiplayer whilst Disc One is in the drive. I’m almost completely certain this will be the case. The only reason there are two discs is so that offline players can enjoy the multiplayer (Forge and splitscreen slayer matches) as well as they can’t download from Xbox Live. It’s an 8gb download, though, I believe. So, it’s better to just install from the disc anyway.

I think 343 said a few months ago that you would need 8gb to install it but i could be wrong.

Install the MP content with the second disk and then you can access everything from the first.

No you’re right, to install the entirety of the Halo 4 MP suite, it’s going to require 8GB worth of storage space.

Makes some room gamers. The Ancient Evil awakens soon…

I believe u have to download disc 2 onto your Xbox or u cant play. Its like halo 2’s download disc.

And does anyone know how long an 8gb download is going to take?

What happens if you install both discs?

Kaboom?

You do need 8 GB, but the multiplayer is only 4 GB.

Just like Forza OP, if you wanna play multiplayer it will ask you to install Disk 2 but you will actually play the game via disk 1.

NO! There’s no large download (there may be a release day patch of a few megabytes). We install the data from the second disk, the second disk then doesn’t need to be used again. Everything is run from disk 1.

I repeat, the 8gb doesn’t need to be downloaded (technically it’ll be an upload, from the smaller medium (dvd) to the larger (hdd).
