So I come home and open up my limited edition of Halo 4. I noticed my disc 1 had small scratches on the edge of the disc but i was like eh no biggie. I put it in and it says unreadable. So then i put in disc 2 and it works totally fine. Installed like nothing. So i try to install disc 1 hoping it would read but sadly it didn’t. I can’t explain how disappointed I am. I waited so long and saved up money for this to happen? I can’t point fingers but man im so heartbroken while my friends are playing and im stuck with a messed up disc. UUUGGGHHH!!

Go to the store and say you received a defective copy. Hopefully they’ll exchange the game discs for you. Depending on your store and how nice their managers are, this sometimes to usually works.

I had the LE for Modern Warfare 2 and this happened to me. If you go in, they may offer to exchange it for a SE copy. That’s what they did for me. The discs are the exact same in the two editions.

He isn’t asking for a new LE, he is basically asking for a new disc. I think they will give it to you if you ask them.

They would give him the standard edition, they wouldn’t take back the defective edition now would they? Also he most likely redeemed the codes.
Contact MS customer support OP, there was issues with Halo 3 collectors editions, I sent the damaged to disc to MS and they were replaced,
Not saying it will be the same but every avenue is worth exploring.
Was your game seadled when you got it, I’ve heard of EB Games employees taking games home and playing them then bringing them back and selling them as new copies.

Same thing happened to me, I have a second copy that I collected for my brother and put that disc in at it works. I’ll be taking it back to Eb games 1st thing tommorrow.
This happened to me with the limited edition H2 because the disc spindle didn’t hold the discs on so a lot jiggled around inside and got scratched. I’m sure those who went through this remember it well lol.
I just took it to the store and they opened a regular edition and swapped discs with me.

you could probably bargain for just a disc 1 replacement because a damaged le will cost them more on the sale…possibly

the le’s case has got a hell of a grip on the disk 
i was worried about damaging the disk just getting it off the spindle
Thanks guys for the help. I don’t need a new LE i just need to replace the disc and i also haven’t redeemed any of the codes yet. I bought my copy at Gamestop. Hopefully they’re kind enough to replace my discs.
Need to get to Gamestop fast before they run out of SE copies.
I just got home with mine (SE) and the install disc1 is scratched out of the box - it’s going back to Best Buy when I leave work. I also hope this isnt going to be an issue again…wish they would stop putting out cheap boxes!
Just got back from Gamestop with my new copy of disc 1 and I am still having the same problem. WTF!
