Just wanted to ask, what content was on Halo 4: Disc 1 & 2 again?
Disc 1 had campaign and Forge. Disc 2 had content that needed to be installed to the hard drive to allow for faster data transfer for the Xbox. I believe it was only multiplayer and Spartan Ops data on disc 2, but it might have had some data for campaign assets as well.
Well the 1 has the campaign and the second has the multiplayer or Infinity. You will have to install the second but after that, you will use the 1 for play.

The Campaign was on the first disc in its entirety, but that’s the only thing that was on the first disc. Forge, Spartan Ops, and multiplayer all had to be installed from the second disc.

This exactly, just look up images of the original Halo 4 discs. Campaign is on disc one and Multiplayer (Forge, Custom Games, Matchmaking), Spartan Ops, and basically the entire multiplayer menu is on the second disc.
Even if you did something like use disc two and somehow get in-game, you’d still need the disc one files, as there are assets shared across all the modes.
Disc 1: Campaign and Forge.
Disc 2: Multiplayer content and Spartan Ops.

I already have the old 360 version with 2 discs, just don’t remember which was what.

You digital guys never fail to jump up and shout “buy digital” regardless of whether or not the post had anything to do with digital vs physical. It’s like you need your purchasing decisions to be constantly validated by total strangers.
