All my problems have to do with MM. Not to imply that’s not a shit-ton of problems.
I don’t think they let us down at all.
The game is brilliant and will get better, this is just another tiring, boring and irritating post! I am shocked at the amount of people on a forum of a game they don’t like!
I like the game but I realized I find myself “trying” to like it more than actually liking it. I hope that isn’t confusing.
Mr Monkey Doughnut,
Thanks for the review built around discussion rather than stating your opinion as just fact.
You have some valid points, but I feel this game is the best of the series.
The soundtrack is a little more electronic compared to the music in Halo 3. I think that was the intent of Halo 4, though considering your enemies are A.I. and the feel of the game should be based more on a forerunner feel than our usual space opera where we fight the covenant. We are seeing how fore runner is our future rather than Halo 3 where we saw fore runner as a thing of the past.
The campaign did feel repetitive for me on my first play through, but that is because I pulled a marathon session and beat it when it came out. Playing it in moderation at about an episode a day in co-op mode, I enjoyed the pace a lot more.
In order to see the perfection of the game I would look towards the controls. The game’-Yoink!- detection is improved the rifles feel accurate all the time, unlike Reach which had recticle bloom and prevented you from having the freedom to fire when you needed it. The characters movement and accuracy are unparalleled and feel so natural it was like wearing a second skin when I jumped into this game. If you feel the controls aren’t up to your liking you are able to change them. (I recommend bumper jumper)
Multiplayer DID adapt from call of duty. You are right here %100. The reason it adapted from call of duty was that this is most likely the future for shooters. Classes have been around since a game called “Tribes” in early 2000. I personally enjoy the classes and load outs, and hope they continue, but I am not everyone so if we disagree here I am not upset the game industry will find a way to cater to both of us, if you dislike the class system you can invent custom games that nullify it. Similar to how SWAT playlist prevents or limits your class loadouts.
> > Most of that 1million who pre-ordered halo 4 never wanted a “codified reach” or another reach they wanted another halo 3.
>
> You can’t compare Halo 4 with Reach. Reach, with its AA and its awful maps(taken Hemorrhage apart) was still a Halo, at least for me. I enjoyed it although I missed the huge vehicle-designed maps that 3 had.
> Halo 4 has nothing to do with Bungie’s Halo. When I saw that I couldn’t use the Warthog the way I used it in Reach, I realised that this game had lost its Halo essence.
> Despite its problems, I didn’t get that feeling with Reach. The changes between 3 and Reach changed the way we played, sure, but the changes between Reach and 4 are so much bigger that have altered the gameplay core.
Agree and to be honest I loved reach but not as much as 3.
Yes, they let us down. Now stop with all these threads
> Yes, they let us down. Now stop with all these threads
No!!! If we stop these threads 343i will make another bad halo game. We need to keep these threads up till halo 5 is made. 343i can’t forget the anger an disappointment from the community about halo 4. Most of the community.

Beautiful post OP
BRAVO!!!..BBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAVVVVVVVVVVVVOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
> Spartan Ops can be alot more challenging and enjoyable if players had a limited amount of lives or the potential to fail missions.
You can fail at least one of the missions. The generator defense mission in Episode 4 was it? I don’t remember. You fail if you don’t keep at least 1 of the 2 generators alive. Big ole mission failed on the screen and kicks you back to the lobby and everything. (pretty embarrassing when it happened TBH…)
Halo 4 is fun. You’re all a bunch of whiners.

Well, OP and everyone who agrees with him;
Good riddance. You can go play BO2 or some garbage and we’ll continue to play. You will not be missed. We’ll still have players, and we’ll still know the game is excellent.
Halo 4 is a huge disappointment for me because it has no FFA Slayer or really any FFA other than regicide.
> > > I dont think they let us down, they gave us more Halo games to play. MS could have easily ended halo forever. Instead, they built a dev studio from the ground up. I do feel however, that too many subcontractors have their hands in the pot. You have 343i, Certain Affinity, Axis Animation, Salavas Audio, Giant Studios and Cubic Motion all working towards a common goal and it appears that certain groups didnt meet their deadlines by the time the game went gold. Its good and bad for us as gamers.

> Really, link to said info that they would replace Halo. I dont believe MS would rid themselves of their flagship game.
Oh, sorry for the late reply.
Here’s some copy pasta:
What do you mean “the next Halo”? Who is Black Tusk Studios? Those might be some of the questions you’re asking right now. But, all will be told soon! A branch of Microsoft, Microsoft Vancouver, has recently changed their name to Black Tusk Studios. Their first project is to create the “next Halo”. What that means is that Microsoft has given them the task of creating their next big entertainment franchise. Microsoft is heavily investing into helping Black Tusk build from the ground up. While there is no news on the franchise, we do have a little information about the studio itself. The studio consists of fifty-five members. One of them being former EA man, Mike Crump, who is Black Tusk’s studio manager. All members of Black Tusk have experience in dealing with and building AAA titles. While we do know very little about them, it seems like whatever Black Tusk Studios is working on, it might be a good idea to keep an eye on them.
If you want, just Google ‘black tusk studios halo’, you’ll get a bunch of stuff on it.
It’s Microsoft realizing that Halo is infact dying and getting ready to replace it as their flag-ship game.
Adding my support to OP.

Actually, I’m playing Natural Selection 2. Because the developers for THAT aren’t a bunch of lazy, incompetent -Yoink!- who ignore the community.
You’ll still have players, although very few of them. The vast majority didn’t like Halo 4 and either stopped playing or returned/traded it.
I agree with OP but i also have to point out something. Every halo game has somehow left it’s fans disappointed for one reason; they expect to have the exact same experience they did before. Every time they release a new game it’s sort of obligatory to add something to it that the last one didn’t have. So with those small additions there has to be changes, of course. Most the time its unintentional. Players play the game differently because there are new features that make the game feel different. Now think about how many games there are in the franchise and add up all the little additions they make and at this point they has completely changed. But is it a bad thing?
I think we should just accept it. Everything changes. Just play along with them. We all know this isn’t halo 3 multiplayer. Just like it isn’t halo reach multiplayer by any means. We should enjoy the game for new reasons. Because Halo 4 is ridiculously fun to play, and because of that i’m not gonna complain about what it doesn’t have and just enjoy the f**king game.
I can almost promise you that they’re not gonna “fix” anything in 5. They’re just gonna add more things. And I’m not gonna complain. I’m going to encourage change and play the game and enjoy it for different reasons.
If they don’t change the game its gonna be like CoD. Making the same game over and over again. Just switching up the maps, then getting complaints about how bad the maps are. There’s always a complaining fanbase.
343i tried to make everybody happy, a noble goal sure but it’s not possible. There will always be a small or large part of the Community who disagree with certain changes.
I’m not saying that they let us down or anything though.

i agreed.
“The next halo” means a new franchise. Not the end of the halo franchise. Heaven forbid a developer has two franchises. The only thing dying is poor players
Couldnt agree more.
The COD comparison and complaints are so played out it’s mind numbing. I come on these forums to talk about the game, the lore and for constructive criticism, but there us none, it’s the same complaints, saying 343 ruined Halo, guess what, CEA is readily available, had they kept the same game style as Combat Evolved, half the forum pages would be complaints saying 343 needs to get with the times. Is there any reason people just list their complaints without giving a solution out idea other than fix it or is every pepsin here rally just trolling. No wonder alot of devs and people that are involved with the game don’t post here they without just get flamed for 30 pages, unreal man
