Halo 4 Demo???

I’ve always thought of a Halo 4 demo. Has anybody here thought of it as well? As a matter of a fact, I want 343 to make a demo. I’m not expecting them to throw a campaign level and a spartan ops and multiplayer game all in one. I want them to do what those people that made the game Alien vs Predator did with their demo. Example, they made a multiplayer demo with one multiplayer game type and a map. It wasn’t a good game type but it was something. I doubt 343 will make a demo but its just an idea.

Yeah, I would really like to check it out before it releases but I dont think they will put a demo out on XBL, it would be awesome though

No, I’d rather just wait for release the first time you play it will me very special, and awesome .

A demo would be awesome :stuck_out_tongue:

Probably by now we won’t get halo 4 demo. But if we had reach beta why not halo 4? Im more excited to play halo 4 than i was for reach

I don’t think there will be a demo.

Then again, I didn’t think there would be a console either, and as soon as I said that the very next day I see, “Halo 4 Console Announced!”

I still don’t think there will be a demo though.

There will most certainly NOT be a demo. Frankie(?) if I recall has stated that it just won’t be happening. At this point in the development process when they are “nose to the grindstone,” they don’t have the time to split off a group of people and put together any sort of demo.

Multiplayer betas have been the norm for Halo 3 and Reach, but those came out in the spring before the release when they still had time to go over that data and tweak their games. Halo 3 was in May if I recall - as was Reach. We are way past that point though.

Demos usually serve the purpose of getting the consumer interested in purchasing the game. I tend to view this as whetting the appetite just enough so that you’ll break down and spend the $60. Many games that don’t have a large production budget it would seem, also go for the demo. They can work as a double edge sword in this respect too. If it sucks, good luck getting the consumer to spend that $60.

As excruciating the wait may seem (and as jealous as I of at those who have gotten to play the game already), remember that this is HALO. Be prepared to be completely blown away by what awaits us in November. I have no doubt that they will deliver and then some. Given the substantial amount of pre-orders for this game (has 343i broken a record on this?) 343i does not really feel the pressure of whether or not people will buy their game. That is a given. What they are making sure to do, is make sure the consumer likes the game - and that is perhaps more important than anything. This is where the whole “nose to the grindstone” comes into play. They have to stay focused on their ultimate goal of shipping the next chapter of the HALO universe.

Don’t get me wrong, I would love nothing more than to play the first five levels of Spartan Ops. Heck, I’d take just one. However, I’d have to start calling myself delusional if I thought that would happen.

Remember, it’s not about the destination but the journey.

I’ve been waiting for a demo.

It should be like Halo PC:

Campaign: 1 mission (preferably featuring variety combat like Silent Cartographer and not a basically cinematic one like LNoS), access to a few [whatever replaces skulls] that are suitable for the level, save and quit, and a badass cinematic after the mission ends that advertises the product (or just bring Johnson back and have him advertise H4)

MP: 1 map, few gametypes

I’d also like to see Theater and 1 Spartan Ops episode (hell, forget one episode. Just one mission from an episode would do).

My days with the Reach demo were excruciating. No save and quit absolutely killed replayability for campaign not to mention the mission was already short and lame. MP and Firefight required Xbox Live Gold. The lack of Theater filled my computer up with up to 20 GB of film a week from playing campaign. Anniversary was so much better, even though it was just 1 Firefight level.

Halo PC demo got me interested in Halo. Needless to say, I bought CE.
Halo Reach demo killed my interest in Reach and lowered my enthusiasm for the series. It took me 2 years to finally get Reach.

Yes I agree
