technically there already was a demo (if thats what your asking) since demo is short for demonstration and videos of gameplay can also count as a demonstration. also wrong forum by the way

There probably won’t even be a demo, there wasn’t even a public beta. A Halo demo sounds terrible anyways.
Halo doesn’t have trial versions before release. Can’t say I’ve ever known the reasoning, because I’ve only ever found trials that I play make me more interested in getting the full experience, not less. Based on playing Transformers and Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer. Maybe it’s just more than the dev team can work on? I suppose a demo is hardly essential to the project, and Halo games are always such massive undertakings. Still, c’mon – just a taste of multiplayer. It’d help stress test their servers! There’s a lot of good reasons for a demo. And yet, they never do.

I think only 3 Halo games have EVER had a demo.
Halo: CE, Halo Reach, and Halo Wars.
There will be no Halo 4 demo.

A sad day.
But still. Literally it would raise hype in an instant if they released a one-map demo like 3 days before the game comes out. Especially if you could only progress “this far” in terms of ranks. But you KEPT your progress (up until “this far”) in the full game.
Sometimes demos can make a first impression that gives you an inaccurate account of the feel of a game…usually because you don’t get to see the whole picture; just a small, sometimes but not always carefully crafted slice. I remember playing several demos in the past where you get to play the first level of the game, and it’s awesome, but then when I bought the game it was 12-20 more levels of the same repetitive crap. I would assume in a game like H4 if they did make a demo you would only get to see a small sliver of the sandbox which would probably appear unbalanced simply because some of the counterbalances to weapons and abilities wouldn’t be included.
Wouldn’t mind a demo but would rather they just moved the release date forward.
