Halo 4 Day one Games On Demand

since my console’s dvd drive no longer works, i live off Games on Demand and i cant imagine going through this holiday without my Halo 4 fix. so i’m appealing to 343 and Microsoft to release this game day one on Games on Demand, i’ll even pre order it on XBL if it helps.
i know gamestop has everybody by the gonad but mass effect has done this and it doesnt affect their sales.
so come Microsoft, DO IT, DO IT, DO IT, DO IT

to answer the question “get a new console”, NextBox comes out btw this holiday and next holiday, so i’m saving up for that.

I don’t see why more Developers aren’t putting their games up for day 1 release.

PC games get all the glory.
Mass Effect 3 did release on PSN release day one though.

Who knows.
I would like to see this done more often, but I will probably be picking up the Legendary Edition (if there is one).

Are you referring to the next-gen Xbox?

It isn’t coming out this year.

OT: I would love to see a lot more games on GoD for Day one, it would make a heck of a lot more money on Microsoft’s end, it is a win win situation.

You have 6 months. I think you can send it in to microsoft and they’ll fix it for free.

if i were you i would send your xbox to get repaired call xbox support.

You can’t play Halo 4 when it comes out?

BUMMER!

But you should contact Xbox support.

My friend had a broken disk drive, so he had it sent back and they sent him a working second-hand console. But guess what!? COD 4 was in the tray! EPIC WIN!!!

1 next xbox will not be released until next year (tho yes I am saving for it too)

2 it might be like the current Xbox new offer so 99$ plus the monthly service contract (I might do that)

3 I voted yes, I would LOVE day 1 GoD releases as long as I can preorder

I didn’t think new console was out till 2014.
has next years release been confirmed .

I agree. Microsoft should take advantage of it and starting putting games on demand day 1.

Agrees day one releases would be so awesome!

I wish I hadn’t spent my -Yoink!- points recently… if this came true, I’d be weeping.

But I’d rather have a campaign demo.

Confirmed? no

heavily hinted at? yup

also MS is test marketing the whole 99$ + contract thing

Get your xbox fixed.
The games on demand prices are a joke.
They charge £50 for Gears of Wars 3, but GAME sell it for £35

I voted that yes they should do it. I mean who is it hurting if they don’t? Not like we’re forced to buy games from it. The only ones I see it hurting by them not doing it are Microsoft themselves for not doing it for more money.

Here’s the thing about Games on Demand / Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

A lot of stores have exclusive contracts with Microsoft to sell the game, therefore must sell a certain amount for them to both profit from it.

Also, for it to be on Games on Demand on the release date would require Microsoft to “upload” it or put it for sale in advance, albeit “un-purchasable”. That would leave it up for grabs for potential hackers, and we all know how awful LIVE security is.

For that reason, I’m almost sure it can’t happen.

If Halo 4 is realesed on GoD day one I think it would be a big step.

Plus it screws over GameStop, and honestly who doesn’t love screwing over GameStop?

They should not only do this, but also have special armor and everything for people that want to pre-order it on demand too. Less money spent shipping games, less damage to the environment…

I don’t see why developers don’t put their game up for download on the release date.

This would be great. -Yoink!- points are what got me CE, H3, and Reach. I lost a lot of discs (H3, ODST) but GoD saved me from further misfortune.
