Halo 4 Daily Peak Population

omfg wurst halo game evur

I quit because its limited that they dont have my playlists i want, plus with the stupid rotation…

Once they add double team back it wont really be that fun because they are adding the ranks that only I can see in halo waypoint so there is really no point to playing this game.

> > Unless “a 70% decline in a games gaming population 1 month after the release date” is pretty normal. I mean, it might not be; but it could be. I don’t know. Granted, it sounds serious, but it might actually be pretty normal, or at least not that bad compared to normal. I mean, everyone seems super into comparing Halo to CoD. What if Blops2 had a 50% decline in population after launch? Would 70% be awful then? Does anyone have the actual stats on Blops2? This is all just conjecture on my part, the only point being that perhaps 70% decline isn’t as bad as it may at first seem.

> shoop,
> Any Halo game should not have any troubles sustaining a 200,000 PEAK population. If Halo 4 was just sold in the U.S. then fine, but this game is sold globally. With Microsoft’s money to back 343i and owning the HALO franchise there really should not be any reason for a PEAK population to be below 200,000. A 70% decline is huge and everyone who is a Halo fan should be worried for this franchise.
>
> Even with the FREE DLC Map Pack release the PEAK population for 12/10/12 was only 121,306. This weekend I hope to see the PEAK populations up to 200,000+ considering the new Map Pack’s were FREE. If the PEAK population numbers do not hit 200,000+ in the following weeks and if the PEAK population numbers do not hit 200,000+ after the new year then EVERY HALO FAN should be very concerned for this franchise. I’m not a fan of Halo 4, but I do hope for the best for the franchise.

Sorry, but Halo’s glory days are over and have been for some time. Halo just can’t sustain those kinds of player numbers any more. 50-100k is where things will eventually settle down to.

//\ I agree I think mid 70k’s is probably going to be the average population. Don’t worry about the franchise. it sold a ton of copies and that will be enough to continue to make Halo games. 80% of revenue is with new game sales, trust me, Halo did just fine for future games, now the quality is another topic.

I’ll bet anyone here that I’ll still be able to get into games 3 months from now.

And thats all that matters =]

But Halo 4 won IGN game of the year and everyone on Waypoint thinks it is the best Halo EVER. Goes to show that the “whiners” and “complainers” are correct about everything they’re saying.

> Oh man… Ghost Recon Future Soldier. So much was there man, so much potential. Such a sad fate that fell upon it, and the similar issues between it and Halo 4 is what worries me.
>
> Last I checked GR:FS had 5k players on all 3 systems, 'tis a shame. I don’t want Halo to be the next Socom or Ghost Recon.

I feel the same way about Crysis 2. A great MP experience, best I have ever played but the lack of support from Crytek has killed it. :frowning:

The problem halo is having is that 343 and bungie towards the end, ran away from a formula that works. 343 made too many changes just for the sake of change. The reason why CoD is so successful at the moment is that they’ve stuck to a formula that works.

343 needs to go back to what made halo great. Not a -Yoink- BTB only game. Halo 4’s base play is also amazing which makes it that much more frustrating dealing with these issues we are facing. We have developer support, but terrible developer support who thinks they are helping

I hope to god JiP doesn’t affect my rank when skill based ranks come out in 2013

> > How can anyone say population numbers do not matter? Hellooo…A 70% decline in a games gaming population 1 month after the release date is a pretty serious matter. Especially, when such a gaming franchise was a contributing factor for the creation of MLG. This is just 1 month after the release of Halo 4 and as a fan of the Halo franchise I am worried. I LOVE HALO…I have LOVED HALO for many years now and these numbers are quite worrying.

> > Trust me, I did not take the time to post dates, population and calculate percentages because I dislike Halo. If the population keeps dwindling the future for Halo does not look well. Of course, there will be another Halo because of the sales numbers, but if 343i keeps putting out games with terrible gaming populations the end of Halo will come sooner rather than later.

Like I said before, even in Reach when the total population was 20,000 or less every day, there was never any issue finding a game instantly in any playlist.
>
> Again, if they didn’t post the population, nobody would know any different.

Yeah right, me getting matched on red bar host 4000 miles away every match is pretty obvious due to low population in a game.

Ill quote you and agree.

Too much cod and reach in this game. Even cod doesnt base its maps around sprint just like 343i did with the huge maps. Tis a shame that Halo is in the hands of purely BTB fans. I enjoy BTB but i live for 4v4 and this map is lacking in that department. Also, flinch is awful. Get that out of this game.

Everybody should care. If Halo is pulling these numbers and CoD is tripling that, guess what’s gonna be in the next Halo, even more CoD features.

I really fear for the future of Halo and the entire video game industry.

Its funny how many people claim to hate the game, yet you are still on this forum spamming it full of hate. Go play another game then.

Not one of these again…

OH NOES THE POPULATION IS GOING DOWN SO THE FRANCH1S3 IS DHUUMED!!!

Do you people not get it? We’ve had enough of these -Yoink- posts. As long as I can find a game quickly this thread means nothing.

Go play Far Cry 3 Multiplayer and then let me know if you think the population of Halo 4 is a big issue. I know Far Cry 3 isn’t nearly as successful as Halo 4 (in terms of MP) but as long as the waiting times to find games isn’t long, your threads will mean NOTHING.

Far Cry is catching up…

BTW I HATE THIS GAME

those are just the peaks there are still well over a million different players on a day

Population does matter. If this 2nd TU doesn’t bring back the balance Halo 4 needs it’ll tank before the middle of the year next year.

343 needs to get through their skulls, A progression system doesn’t do a damn thing that a 1-50 ranking system will do and have Ranked AND Social playlists. It’s what’s making Halo 3 survive 5 years later.

> Ok and? No one cares about population as long as you can find a game in every playlist.

It obviously does matter, it shows that the game isn’t doing so well, it shows that the game has flaws, it shows that halo 4 isn’t as good as people say it it. People like you who say that the population doesn’t matter are such idiots.

Wait until Christmas.

What is this free map pack people speak of?

Btw, I think Far Cry 3 is actually very enjoyable. Far Cry 2 was an absolute abomination.

Just like on Ubi’s forums; people flame the game after and praise the one before.

But don’t worry Halowaypoint.com…you all still take the cake
