Halo is known for its unique epicness throughout its games except for REACH lol jk . Now with Halo 4 coming out will we expect something like this from 29:00 to 30:40.
That cut-scene was by far the best in the Halo franchise all I’m hoping is for a better one in Halo 4 (No wub wub or cheezy epicness please)
Btw this thread was just a little thing that reminds us that Halo isn’t all about MP
One question about Halo 4. The E3 demo. First cut-scene when Infinity is revealed from clouds and crashes on Requiem, was truly realtime or was it CGI? If it was rendered realtime I am super impressed. It was the bestlooking cut-scene ever on consoles!!

If the cutscenes in Halo 4 can surpass the cut scene direction, music and awesomeness of Halo 2, I will have great faith for future Halo games from them.
Also, I would prefer having the CGI cutscenes in Halo Wars from Blur Studios as an addon, those were epic, too.
Everyone has different standards of epicness. Infinity Ward and Treyarch - the makers of CoD games - view epicness as something proportional to the number of explosions, slow-motion gunfights, dual automatic weapons, car chases, shattered glass, and quick-time-events in the game. Epic Games (no pun intended) - makers of GoW - view epicness as, well… riding on the back of a massive ape dinosaur armed with rocket launchers while ripping apart giant spiders. Sony - maker of a lot of games, including God of War - view epicness as the number of bloodied headless bodies, flying swords, giant boss fights, and brutal slow-motion kills in the game.
So your view of epicness is seeing massive megastructures which we had not expected to see ever again rising above clouds? Interesting… Judging from the scene where the Infinity plummets from the clouds in Halo 4, I guess you will be satisfied.

Epicness my friend isn’t about explosions and ARNIE nor is it blood and gore .It’s about how it moves you , how it chills your spine . Halo and LoZ to me chilled my spine like nothing before .
Heck there was a time where one of my pals said Transformers =(cheezy) was way more epic than Halo… I laughed like hell

That was the only good part of the story IMO, I almost cried at that.
CE: AI appear in cutscenes, cutscene bipeds are on teams, controllable cutscene triggers (skipping light bridge activation scene on 2nd level with a plasma grenade), most cutscenes can be skipped/cut to the chase
H2: player weapon choice appears in cutscene, cutscene easter eggs, some aspects of CE cutscenes are intact
H3: Return of physical bipeds
ODST: player vehicle choice appears in cutscene, cutscene easter eggs
Bad:
H3: Kills off AI (i.e. The Storm aa gun cutscene), only 1 cutscene in the entire game does not delete/kill AI
Reach: long unskippable cinematics, big teases in cutscenes
It all went downhill with H3 and Reach… with only a few innovations (H2, ODST) that didn’t last very long afaik.

I’d have to disagree with that being the most epic Halo cutscene. The most epic Halo cutscene was hands down a Halo 2 one. Though, actually picking one from Halo 2 to be the most epic from the plethora of awesome that was Halo 2… Is hard as hell.
The entire opening of the game?
Master Chief flying a Covenant bomb through space, INTO a Covenant Assault Carrier and destroying it?
The Pelican’s flying over New Mombassa and coming into contact with the Scarab?
Master Chief triumphantly walking off the now destroyed Scarab, and boarding In Amber Clad just in time to catch Regret’s Ship slipspace jump inside the city? (Originally believed to have literally destroyed New Mombasa, which it should have, darn Halo 3 ODST making the slipspace impact on the city seem less impressive…)
The entire High Charity fleet arriving at Delta Halo?
Master Chief outrunning an Energy Projector beam as it glasses the area around him?
Halo 2 had the most well thought out, epic cutscenes in the series…
I was actually really impressed with the one in the E3 demo. If they are anything like that, with good story telling, then Halo 4’s cut scenes will be epic.

Yes, that looked almost real. It was extremely impressive. Have you seen the Master Chief in the live-action trailer? There are so little differences between that and the gae cutscene, it’s just wow!

That were indeed two of the greatest Halo cutscenes!

That isn’t CGI.
That’s called pre-rendered, which is what the Halo 3 and Halo 4 cutscenes are.
