I don’t know if anyone knows about these consoles at the beginning of the campaign level Requiem but if you have a look at them they do explain some things like why the Covenant have been outside of Requiem for three years.

There is also something Forerunner in the video with Forerunner writing on which mentions the Mantle and various other things.
