Almost every Halo game, the UNSC weapons have always dominated the Covenant weapons. If I ever saw a Battle Rifle and a Carbine on the floor, I would always pick up the BR. If I saw a Plasma Rifle and a Assault Rifle on the floor, I would pick up the AR, etc, etc. It’s time create a balance between the two factions weapons. I would love to have a Covenant equivalent to the Magnum pistol, I know the Plasma pistol is supposed to be the equivalent, but I’d love a Covenant pistol that can actually kill. I think the Beam Rifle is a perfect equivalent to the UNSC Sniper. But the most important thing is to get that BR and Covenant Carbine on perfect playing levels, in fact, make a Burst fire Plasma weapon, I’d love to finally see a Covenant equivalent Battle Rifle that is actually good. P.S. Needle Rifle is garbage and Carbine is pathetic compared to BR.

A quick idea, how about a Needler type Pistol for the Covenant that can actually get headshots, I reckon that would be awesome.
There is a balance issue, true. However, the weapons are supposed to have unique uses, like the Plasma Pistol compared to the magnum. The magnum acts like you expect , however, the PP is weak until overcharged, which is deadly. One overcharge will drain your shields, disable a vehicle. Another will kill.
But i think plasma must have a bit more punch and drain your shields faster. Any other type of covy weapon (i.e needle, spike) needs lots of physical punch and special properties like super-combine etc.
I have also noticed a lack of anti-infantry power with the heavy plasma weapons. This is what saddens me the most. A fuel rod cannon should vaporize infantry, a plasma turret should lay down relentless super fast anti infantry fire that would make the target want to find immediate cover. The plasma launcher should melt a large chunk of a mighty tank. Things like this, why does it take me a whole magazine of concussion rifle shots to kill myself?
FIx this, 343, and i will love you that much more.
P.S the plasma grenade is great, but needs more of an instant large scale infantry vaporizing explosion. And it must look and sound like halo CEA. Thanks!
