Halo 4 Control Setups need revamp.

As much of you are aware here are the Halo 4 controller configurations:
http://halo4nation.com/news/all-controller-configurations/

From the looks of it there is going to be a lot of rage going on.
One example is with Recon.

Gamers are used to playing games a certain way, Halo Reach made sprint an armor ability and players are used to having to sprint with LB. With the new mentioned controls this isn’t present or acknowledged. Gamers are used to sprinting in other games with LB like Skyrim, Saints Row the third and find it comfortable.

With the new control setups using Sprint as a button X means you cannot control the direction of your camera with the LS.

This new control setups are going to cause a lot of frustration from gamers.

Personally I agree with this thread.

this should be a control setup:

as this alleviates all of the problems.

if 343 if your listening please take this into consideration before the release of your final product.

And fans please twitter https://twitter.com/HaloWaypoint and let them know to change the controls.

recon is perfect the way it is because you dont need to hold the X button to sprint you can just press it once like in reach, some people want armor ability for recon to be on X but how will you look around while using something like a jetpack ?

the only one that should be changed is bumper jumper

If 343i was smart and they were truly listening to the fans they would allow for individual key bindings allowing flexibility and freedom for the players to choose the control methods and setups they want and save them to their game save and gamertag.

Now what we see if a huge rage topic and haters as well as complainers about the technical control issues, this could have been alleviated easily with independent control bindings letting us choose what button does what like in fighting games.

Now I have to unlearn the things I used to do in Halo Reach and Halo 3 this shows bad game design, it should evolve game design by retaining certain aspects in the controls not changing them dramatically.

Much more thought and critical thinking should have been made in designing proper control methods.

toggle jetpack

Frankie said the controls were NOT final. -_-

sprint is a toggle, you tap it once and you start running, so you can aim whilst sprinting. bumper jumper is the real problem, grenade on X just isnt gonna work.

that wouldn’t work because it might go higher then I want and get stuffed up

That’s horrible! So I have to tap x all the time when I want to sprint and adjust my thumb to the right analog stick. I find this atrocious. How come in fighting games like Soul Calibur V, Street Fighter 4, Blazblue, etc allow the freedom for players to customize their controls but in Halo this is never the case, they provide me presets which I don’t want, I don’t want them to force this type of control style.

I really hope 343 takes this into consideration and allow freedom, flexibility in control styles.
I’m sure there are people who are comfortable with this setup but there are players like me who won’t stand for these forced controls. It feels like playing Super Mario and the only way to jump is by pressing UP instead of using an A button.
