Halo 4 Concerns

I have a few. Mainly, I am afraid it’s going to be like Reach in a sense.
I liked Reach. For a long time. But that was after I played Halo 3. Today, I decided to revisit the game and found it really nostalgic. A REAL Halo. Super jumping, a good assault rifle, etc. That’s what Reach lacks for me.
So, at this point, I’m very doubtful that Halo 4 will be near as good as Halo 3. But, I’m always crossing my fingers that something will make me change my mind.

we have no idea what to even expect from halo 4 gameplay wise since we havent seen gameplay so we will see. and really i want halo 4 to be a new game not be based of another

Its a very hard line not to cross. 343s goal is to bring a new Halo that makes us want to play it, but also keep Halo how it has been and what we have come to love. But at the same time, if they made it like Halo 2, a majority (not all) would ask why its not all new and modern.

That being said, I would be soooo happy if they took Halo 2 and integrated the formula into Halo 4. My advice to 343 would be read these forums top to bottom and realize that most people want a return to the epicness that was the first trilogy and the competitiveness of it. Reach made it more like COD, (in COD I could probably get more kills with a knife than half of my team can with a gun -_-). But we have to remember they are a business and what people are buying right now are games like COD. So naturally they want to appeal to the masses in order to turn a profit.

All in all, I think they’ll get it right, because if they don’t everyone will hate them

How did Reach make it like COD? Aren’t people complaining that the kill times are slower than in 3,2, and 1?

Don’t tell me AAs are from COD, either.

I have a great many fears about Halo 4. I worry that 343 will screw up and do something dumb. One of the things I fear most is that they’ll show Chief taking his helmet off. 343 is new. If Bungie had done it in Halo 3, I would have been okay with it. 343 hasn’t proven their worth to me yet. Halo 4 is to be the first part in a trilogy, so if they can prove that they’re good enough, I might be able to feel okay about them exposing the man’s face in a later game (i.e. Halo 5/Halo 6).

I’m also afraid that the new enemies are going to be more like the Flood or the Covenant. I’ve read that they’re supposed to be totally different from the Covenant as per they stick together, and work as a team more, but it’s hard to be more of a team effort than what the Jackals did. And they were never compared to the flood. The infecting bulbs of annoyance always stuck together as a pack, and therefore I have the lingering issue that they’ll be Flood smart. Running fast, taking lots of bullets, standing next to each other, not throwing grenades simultaneously (if ever).

All in all, I have faith that 343 won’t screw up, but they’re feeding us things to make us feel good about them. Like Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary. That was a fan request YEARS ago. They want us to like them, and I’m not sure how much I actually do. I DO have some faith, I’ll just see if they can carry it. I’ve been a Halo fan for years, I don’t want it screwed up now.

I wouldn’t worry too much about 343i reveiling Chief’s face in Halo 4. If you’re worried about the behavior of the new enemies, go and watch the E3 campaign demo. You’ll see they behave nothing like the Covenant or the Flood.

Oh how I thirst for optimism. From anyone.

From what? a full 30 seconds of 2 grunts, and a jackel get shot in the face by a BR and an Elite getting melted?

My most concern for halo 4 will be the ranking system that 343 is implementing in the game and keeping the balance between the competitive gamer and casual.

I just hope 343 implements a good ranking system that is skill based and not based on how long you played the game for like halo reach or COD.

If 343 brings in a new revamped 1-50 system it would be great
