Halo 4 COMPATIBLE with both!

So i seen an article about the Xbox 720 and Xbox 360. I got to thinking what if they have it so that Halo 4 is compatible with both consoles? That might be why we have a lack of information.

If it’s compatible with both I should imagine it’ll be some kind of backward compatibility, nothing more.

Microsoft is a very greedy company so they wouldn’t just throw their 360 titles away, they’d probably have some purchasable backward compatibility for the new Xbox.

And personally, calling the new Xbox an Xbox 720 without having official information on it sounds dumb. Just sayin’

Microsoft only care about $$MONEY$$

I want the next console to be upgradable. Make it user friendly. Not so much like a PC where you need to pull everything apart (inside the hardware and software) but like it would be easy, and safe, to remove components and insert new ones in order to keep up to date with the advancement of technology rather then sitting behind the PC for half a decade.

Like the rumble pack for the 64.

I think an upgrades for the xbox would be a bad idea, the developers would start making games for the best upgraded consoles out there, so then people would have to upgrade their console just to play a game and would have to spent let’s say £100 for all the upgrades and £40 for a game. Now that’s a lot of money ! Look at PC gamers they have to spent £200 on a graphics card so a game won’t lag! I switched from the pc to consoles when halo 3 came out, because it was getting too expensive to play games on the pc. Consoles are way better the way they are, go to the shop, buy the game, come back and enjoy playing straight away! you don’t have to worry about your console not being good enough for a game you just bought. I just want the new console to be more powerful.

Not true, the developers can adjust themselves around. For example, Battlefield 3 is 24 player limit on consoles, 64 on PC. If you don’t have the right upgrades, you can still play 24 player matches, if you do have the right upgrades you can join in on the 64 player matches.

From the movie Real Steel. http://zombiegamer.co.za/an-xbox-720-logo-spotted-in-reald-teel-trailer

Why would a high budget modern movie lie about this… They had to get there info from some where. Also the Movie takes place in the Year 2020

Every company’s main goal, is money.

I have read that the “Xbox 720” (in lack of another name I will call it that) will have full backward compatibility to the Xbox 360 games, which means that you will be able to play all of the Xbox 360 games on the “xbox 720”.

I am hoping the new xbox will be formatted to play xbox 360 games too.

I think what the OP is talking about is not backwards compatiblity but forward compatibility.

Microsoft was talking about “forward compatibility” for the next xbox in 07-08 I think.

The difference between forward compatibility and backwards compatibility is more along the lines of the way games are setup on pc’s.

Gaming on a pc allows you to adjust your settings of the game in order to work it’s best on the hardware you are using. When you get better hardware, you can raise the setting on the game.

Basically, what Microsoft was talking about doing was that you can play xbox 360 games on the 360 at say medium settings, but when you throw hte game in the next box, the settings are raise and it will be like if you are playing in ultra, which is completely different from backwards compatibility.

I would be happy to wait for the new x box or halo 5 to get a player cap rise. would like it in halo 4 but I guess its not a must have. 343 is integrated into MS right? so they should receive there dev kits or specs as early as anyone. that’s a big secret to sit on I do not envy them

This is what i hope 4

343 has probably had “target” boxes since early last year. If the rumors are true, they probably received sdk’s last month.

It’s not a lie. It’s a pop culture reference. That’s all.

OT: No. They wont do that. They shouldn’t do that for so many reasons.
