Halo 4 Community Suggestion Thread

Hello all! I’m merging some of my threads together in one more thread and like my previous thread I’m asking all who are interedted to offer up some suggestions that I will add to the list. So please add your thoughts on the subjects, comment on what you like and don’t like and provide constructive criticism and feedback! We can help 343i by giving great ideas and feedback.

-Matchmaking Playlists and Game Types-

[/li]- If we only get one classic playlist due to making everyting streamlined and less cluttered I would like to see a 5-6 team playlist to cover Social/BTB

  • The return of Action Sack is a must for me as well. I love jumping into that playlist just to get a break from serious competetive play and I have a bunch of game type suggestions here as well.

  • Predetor. General idea is basically from the movie Predetors. My general take on it is that if the playlist is 4v4. The game randomly picks 3 players to be the Predetors, spawn with Promethean Vision and Camo, sword and light rifle, no shields but high health, no lives and humans get a choice of weapons at spawn point and maybe 3 lives each. Sugggested by erickyboo, Modified by me.

  • Drag Racing. Thruster pack + mongoose racing(probably in Action Sack). Suggested by Raging Sea Goat.

  • Basket Ball. Basically it would be hot potatoe basket ball where you juggle the bomb, if you hold it too long you explode and die with a penalty of about maybe 8 seconds. All players have gravity hammers to mess the ball carrier up or to defend the carrier, ball can be stolen if the enemy manages to get past the defends and at the hoop they have a player trait zone that allows higher jumps and nulls bomb explosion time. Suggested by me.

  • I thought of a competitive game type they could possibly use. It’s a form of VIP but the enemy has the VIP captive (probably best to make it an AI) and it’s in the enemy base, the objective is to get in, release him and escort back to base and that’s where the light shields come in best I think, provide cover as the AI heads to base and if the AI dies it should just respawn in his captive zone. (You can make many different variants of this game type, if you think of a better one please suggest it.)

First I will start with the topic everyone is raging about now which is <mark>Jet Pack</mark>, I feel it should replace the Halo 3 Grav Lift equipment, perhaps have one use or a very long cool down and more limited duration, perhaps allowing for a 3x jump height.

Second I don’t want a Sniper > EVERYTHING. In Reach you didn’t need a laser to kill a tank or banshee if you had a sniper… Which brings me to my next problem, the <mark>Spartan Laser</mark> should show up on more maps and shoot/feel more like the Halo 3 one (when you fired it at something it not only hit it, it also dies.

I heard somewhere that you aren’t able to pick grenades up from a dead body anymore, but you need a specialization to do that. If so I don’t like that, if a person dies with weapons/grenades then they should appear on the ground. I’m fine with the specialization giving grenades to you even if they had none, it’s just a case of countering enemies that have different specs/abilities.

From this thread I wanted a Prototype Vs War Sphinx but later on I realized you would probably need a Prototype just to fight a Promethean in his warrior armour, and judging from this, you might be able to pilot a mech (jump to 4:29), you see chief jump in something that resembles the mech on the map Adrift.

Unless there will be future DLC for this playlist I would like to see it repurposed to fill the firefight void once the season finishes(while still allowing us to play pervious missions).

  • Voice modifications. Similar to fire fight voices but these only change the sound your spartan already makes through grunting in death, assassinations and everything else, and to be usable in matchmaking and Spartan Ops. And my suggestion for this is an RvB Elite-esque Blarg noises.

can’t see VIP working as AI bots in Multiplayer has been confirmed to not be in the game and players wouldn’t really work. maybe a suggestion for Spartan Ops?

I was thinking the AI thing might not work so well and was considering a player may have to be a hostage, but it would be a tad difficult to make the game work… But it would be an interesting game if it could be made!

1:Forge option that Party Leader is the only one that can go in Editor Mode
2:Grenade Regeneration
3:Shield Vampire effect(You hit someone and you take their shield)
4:Shield decay
5:VIP
6:Halo 3 Vehicule health system
7:Multiple players in Theater mode

And some others that I don’t remember cause I didn’t play Halo 3 for a while.
As long as they bring the best from both Reach and Halo 3 and of course with newer stuff,
I’m sure that Halo 4 is going to be the BOMB! =D

Just cleaned up my thread a bit more, should be easier to read, and as always comment, suggest and maybe we will see someones suggestion make it to development!

haha The only problem is, that even in Halo 3, that Party Leader system never worked. The other players could press Start and then click the go into Editor Mode. It was hilarious.

I didn’t mind that, we would end up having forge wars, trying to splatter someone with a tank as the monitor and or trying to kill the monitor with a sniper or laser… Was pretty fun for a while lol.

If i could get one thing decided to Halo 4 , i would want an ability in Forge that lets you pull times towards you and the opposite. Its really annoying in Reach when you spawn an object and the camera suddenly flies away from the object , and i have to release it and fly towards it to place it correctly

Hmm, I haven’t seen that problem before.

Here’s a zombie gametype me and my friend came up with.

We call it “Last Stand”.Basically theres a long straight tunnel thats about the height and width of a Scorpian. And the tunnel is split into 10 sections, each section is about as long as 3 Warthogs. the zombies start at section 1 and the humans are at section 10. now the humans can choose between 2 loadouts. 1st loadout is the sniper rifle, but it only has 2 clips and a magnum with 2 clips. 2nd loadout is DMR with one clip and magnum with 4 clips. No AA’s, only one EMP grenade. Zombies have sword (infinite ammo) and no AA, only infinite sprint. Now when the zombies start to run down the tunnel they start to get faster and faster. every section of the tunnel will have different player trait zones each doing a different thing. Sections 1-4 will gradually increase there speed from 120% to 140% to 160% to finally 180% speed. Sections 5-7 will gradually increase their damage resistance by 5% then 10% and finally 20% while still having their speed boost. And finally sections 8 and 9 makes them invisible while still maintaining their damage resistance and speed boost from the previous sections. section 10 (where the humans are) gives whoever’s in there a 25% damage boost. The humans cannot leave section 10, still working on how not to let them leave and still shoot out and how to let the zombies in. Anyway the point of the gametype is to promote team work. Plus the growing fear of zombies running towards you at superspeed, getting stronger and suddenly vanish in front of your eyes as your down to ur last bullet, not knowing where the zombies are, dont want to waste ur bullets shooting at thin air even though theres the chance you might hit one of them.

Hope you guys like the idea, we’re still working on it and since we dont have halo 4 yet it’ll be awhile till we get it up and running well. Sorry for the long description. Created by Zeta kyle and avatar3283

While I don’t think it’s in my place to decide what should be done with the campaign I do have some suggestions

  • Revive the halo 3 custom gaming days, right now there is no point to forging a map if no one wants to play.

  • I was gonna add something else but thats it. the custom gaming was what kept me playing halo 3 for a very long time.

LOVE! the idea about infection

Spawnable AA’s like Camo & jetpack SHOULD ONLY BE PLAYABLE IN SPARTAN OPS AND CAMPAIGN + Custom games

But keep them out of MP
As they both do more BAD then GOOD and can’t be nerfed enough to make it useable but not OP

Only time will tell what 343i does all we can do is hope for them best .

Camo was just fine in Halo 3… All it would do was basically let you get a free kill, that’s it. In reach it would mostly benefit snipers or CQB with shotties/sword. Which can be fixed to being pickup only with limited duration and use.
