With the Warthog returning in halo 4 what new turret would you like to see mounted on the back. As the Halo 4 community lets bring our ideas together whether they are good or bad. So this topic is not to redesign the Warthog but to create a turret for it.
The turrets we have seen so far are the Chain-gun Turret, Gauss Turret and the Missile Turret. Also think realistically with your design with the size and weight and you can use images to show an example of the turret you are designing.
To give you more of an understanding of what I mean, I’ll give a few designs.
1. The Laserhog
A turret designed from the Spartan Laser and typically works the same. Just like the Spartan Laser the turret has to charge before it can fire and is mainly used to take out enemy vehicles. The laser turret would be a similar size to that of a Gauss turret but slightly heavier and bigger.
2. The Railgun Turret
The Railgun turret will have a design similar to that of the Railgun turret from Halo wars that is used to protect the UNSC base. For example Halo - Official Site (en) (the image in the top right is the one to look at). Their will be two Railguns mounted one on the left and the right similar to that of the Rockethog from Reach. Just one turret will weigh slightly more then a Chaingun turret and will be a similar size to a Gauss turret.
These are just two examples of turret designs and if a design is liked by the community then I will add it to the OP quoted from the designer. And if their’s a design that you like and can improve on then feel free to make improvements and again if that improved idea is liked by the community I’ll add it to the OP quoted from both the original designer and the designer who made improvements.
Edit: You can also use any weapon we have seen in all the halo games as inspiration for your design.

1.The Flamethrower turret

Mine would be riding low with 28’s, gold rims, with the subs in the back with the bass boost right next to the chaingun firing hollow tips, hydraulics with a fresh new code of paint either dark green or black.
well that would be my warthog design as for the turret the chaingun.
Guided Rocket Hog.
It would be another model of the Warthog. The turret would look about the same as the Gauss turret. The only difference is that it would fire a rocket.
Rocket:
-It would do the same damage as a rocket.
-It would be almost as fast as the rocket form the rocket Launcher, maybe a bit slower.
-After 30 seconds it would automatically exploded.
-After the rocket explodes. You have a recharging time of about 5-7 seconds.
-It would be controlled by the turret. What ever direction you are turning. The rocket would follow. So basically it would act like the Rocket Launcher from Half-Life 2. When you fire it. You use the laser to control it. Here’s a video of what I’m talking about.
what about a warthog where instead of a chaingun on the back it has a noose and my son accidentally falls into the noose hahahahaha no but seriously can we make this

Here’s another turret design.
The Needle Turret
1. Designed from the Covenant Needler. 2. Needles lock onto target. 3. 3x more range then the Needler 4. The overheating system is replaced by ammo. When the bar is empty the turret will self reload. 5. Their is the possibility two have two mounted turrets similar to the Rockethog but both will share the same ammo supply but have a much higher firing rate.
A turret that fires small explosive rounds, kind of similar to the brute shot. It’s automatic but not like a machine gun. The rounds explode on impact and aren’t as powerful as the rocket hog. Good against infantry and vehicles.
A fuel rod Hog that the Humans and elites built after forming their alliance that combined the near indestructibility of a warthog with a quad FRG turret to explosivly shoot over cover.
Well seeing how humans are probably gonna be reverse engineering a lot of forerunner tech in Halo 4 I would like to see a warthog with a setinal beam turret but when it hits any type of organic life it sets it on fire. The purpose of this would be to fight the flood and it wouldn’t be included in multiplayer.
The Laser Turret could actually work. Bit hard and tricky to master perhaps, but that would be a perfect counter against its destruction.
A Flamethrower could also work, hypothetically. But would be harder to get kills with, thanks to having to rely on a constant stream of fire for a kill.
So that leaves two other options as far as I see:
Grenade Launcher. (Similar to the one on the Falcon)
“Shotgun” Turret, which could work as a series of 2-3 fast, short distance but very powerful shots before a (short) cooldown. Good agaist infantry, but could also rip apart other vehicles.
