I don’t know if they’ll be in the game but if they are then I think the ones you have from Reach should carry over because let’s be realistic you’re not gonna have everything maxed out by the time H4 releases.
Correction, young odd-thinker. A lot of people do have maxed out Commendations. You wouldn’t want to just bring that over and not have any progressions through them, would you? What if you can unlock some Achievements with them, but you cannot due to you having them all at 100%?
A carry-over of Commendations would be a mistake, plus just imagine all of the people who’d still be on Reach when Halo 4 is released.

This. And also a new major Halo game is a fresh start. It’s messy if it’s not. Though I think some things should carry over… Maybe armour? They might not have some of the armour from Halo Reach in Halo 4 so it would be cool if the only way you could get it was through Halo Reach. It would keep Halo Reach alive as well.

People do have maxed out commendations but there are ones that they are from completing. You’re at 43%. You’re not even close, you sure want to start all over? And you don’t have to be playing Reach to complete them. They can accommodate them in Halo 4.

Reach stays in Reach with its game-specific commendations. When I want to go back to Reach after some solid Halo 4, I will and those Commendations for Halo 4 will remain game-specific for Halo 4.
I don’t want them to have to spend more time trying to hassle all of my Commendations over to Halo 4 and then back to Reach when I feel like switching. Plus, starting over again is half of the fun in any game, let alone Halo. If I didn’t start over, where’d the fun and challenges be in that anyhow? That’s like being given a half-dead deer and being told to skin it.
I’d much rather start over and enjoy my trek back across the Commendations rather than having them transfer back and forth with me.

Sorry man, but commendations are something I never really payed any attention too. I just “let it happen”.

I pay too much attention to them and trying to kill 12,000 vehicles and 8,000 perfections in firefight is not fun.
