Halo 4 Classic Playlist
Within the game Halo 4, multiple playlists are shown to the player such as War games, Swat, Team Objective, Team Snipers and a host of other game types within the multiplayer experience. One particular Playlist should also take part in the Multiplayer called “Classic.” This Playlist could be up for DLC or implemented some other way.
Halo: Combat Evolved Playlist
This playlist acts almost identical to the Halo Anniversary portion found in Halo Reach, players spawn with an Assault Rifle and Pistol, although the Pistol will need to be upgraded with more power, and then there are also Power-ups (over shield, invisibility) and Power weapons laying around the map players may pick up.
Points to be considered:
- Over-powered Pistol
- No sprinting
- No equipment
- No assassinations
- Power-ups/Power weapons on map
Halo 2/Halo 3 Playlist
Players cannot Dual-wield unlike the actual game. There are also no set pieces of equipment found throughout the maps, but will be remedied by player’s kills in which the circle above the radar found in Halo 4’s multiplayer is still visible, once this gets filled up, players may activate it and a “limited” time use for the armor ability can be used. After which, the armor ability is lost until further points are rewarded. Preferably, players that begin a match or re-spawn are equipped with the Battle Rifle and Pistol for the back-up gun. Sprinting has also been taken out as well, but assassinations can still be performed.
Points to be considered:
- Spawn with Battle Rifle and Pistol
- No Sprinting
- No Dual-wielding
- Assassinations
- Equipment hybrid with Halo 4 system

Well it is meant to be Classic for a reason, the Pistol was a 3SK, which is slightly OP.

Constraints brought upon things specific to the original Xbox and LAN play made a 3sk pistol reasonably possible for CE. Now that we have online play (with mechanics that are inputted to combat lag and promote shot registry) it is necessary that said damage should change. Ergo, 4sk would be optimal.

The Pistol should definitely be 3 shot for the Halo CE, but it’s completely reasonable for it to be 4 shot within the Halo 2/3 playlist.

No. Because Xbox LIVE cannot replicate the conditions that made the CE Pistol feasible, and therefore it should be changed accordingly.
What I was thinking for a classic playlist would be to just combine H 1 - 3 together.
-4 shot BR start
-5 shot pistol with high RoF start
-H3 move speed/jump height/gravity
-fast shield regen, regenerating HP which is visible
-Dual wielding
-Slayer and CTF gametypes (or maybe make 2 playlists - Classic Slayer & Classic Objective)
-Remade maps mixed with some new ones
If they are going to remake maps then IMO, Halo 3’s “The Pit”, “Guardian”, and “Construct”, would be the best first 3 pack DLC. Those 3 maps were PERFECT for multiplayer.
No map remakes, especially the crap Halo 3 maps.
The classic playlist shouldn’t be focusing on remaking any of the games, but replicating the feel. Give us a BR and AR, have all the other weapons on the map, predictable weapon spawns, and powerups as pickups. Sprint can stay. Everything else should be kept default, so players would not feel alienated by it.

And also, why talk about dual wielding, isn’t it not in the game already? I don’t think you can just add that.
Nonetheless, I think they just need to add normal slayer and big team objective before anything else.
