Halo 4 Classic Playlist (Custom Template)

This is a fairly long post, so please take the time to read it properly before posting, thanks.

I’m all in for the “Flowing, objective Gameplay” approach in which 343i is trying to incorporate with the new load-out system as such, I’m looking forward to seeing how this change in gameplay will effect Halo multiplayer.

I’m glad changes have been made to improve gameplay as such, but I would like to make a suggestion that a classic playlist should be created. Similar to Halo: Reach’s “Classic Playist” in which there were no loadouts, no weapon pick ups, power up spawns, etc. But instead of a Halo: CE multiplayer style, leaning towards more a Halo 3 approach, or even a combination the best of the original trilogy multiplayers aspects and putting it into one. For EXAMPLE (all opinionated):

======================================================================================================
Classic Playlist:======================================================================================================

Max Player Count: 8
Gametypes: Team Slayer, CTF, Assault, Territories
Maps: All in-built Halo 4, incorporate forge remakes from past Halo games

Past Halo Features:

*Halo CE: N/A
*Halo 2: N/A
*Halo 3: Walk Speed, Jump height

Additional Notes:

*No ordinates, No Weapon drops, No Custom Layouts or any new Halo 4 features
*1 to 50 score in Team Slayer
*Flag carrier in CTF can only run with flag but can drop it at anytime
*All armour is defaulted as close to the original H3 Master Chief (more classical feel)
*Using Halo 1,2,3 weapons Only (Which exist in Halo 4, bruteshot can’t for example can’t since it’s not in the Halo 4 Sandbox).

In conclusion, I think that a classical style playlist with succeed and maintain a good population though out Halo 4, as I assume that past Halo players will appreciate having a separate playist that they are able to play with a more classic Halo feel.

So what do you think?

Is a classic playlist needed, or is it unnecessary, why?
What Features would you incorporate into a classic playlist?

(I put a template below (Copy and Paste) you can use to make it easier for you and others to read)

Classic Playlist:

Max Player Count:

Sounds gud.

tl;dr

OT: Yes, there should be a classic playlist.

Classic Playlist:

Max Player Count: 8
Gametypes: Ranked Halo 3
Maps: All

Past Halo Features:

*Halo CE: Pistol
*Halo 2:
*Halo 3: Everything else

Additional Notes:

Sounds good to me, too. I’d say the Concussion Rifle and Sticky Detonator stay in.

My thoughts:

  1. Score - 500 (kills = 10)
  2. Initial Weapon spawns - Yes
  3. Custom Classes - No, players will spawn with predetermined weapons for which Custom Gametype will be used
  4. Will consist of multiple playlists according to the classic Halos.

Playlists:
Halo CE

  1. Weapons will only include those that were on CE
  2. Gametypes will be those on CE
  3. No AA’s

Halo 2

  1. Weapons will include those that were on Halo 2 (Either SD or CR will take place of the Brute Shot)
  2. Gametypes will be those on Halo 2
  3. No AA’s

Halo 3

  1. Same as above, but the other weapon that takes place of the Brute Shot will be in this instead.
  2. Same as above.
  3. Same as above.

Could use some work, but this is an idea I just threw together.

Also, sorry that I’m not using your template, OP.

No. Classic should simply be H4 without AAs, sprint or weapon drops.

We want H4 if it was made correctly. Not a copy of past games.

some people still want to play like how it once was without having to go back to it. it has a certain feel to it (cant explain)

I say yes but I dont want to change my spartan

use 1-3 weapons and vehicles and map along with the built in one or just map remakes.
