Halo 4 classic maps (remakes) clarification!

Hey, I was watching this video of comic con, and saw something about a classic map.

Watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35_pXjNsDUY&feature=player_detailpage#t=2662s
From 44:22 (Not sure if I copied and pasted it from a time, it’s 44:22 though.

Basically, he asks “Are there any classic maps that you’re gonna bring in for multi player?”

And he responds “There’s a definite possibility that there’s at least 1”.

If you think about the way he said it, he thought about it, so that means they’ve already made 1 remake, and are thinking about making more! (Well that’s how I took it in, what are your thoughts?)

NOTE (Please read!): This is not another thread asking “Will they?” or “Won’t they?” or “What maps?”… This is simply clarification for all those who are unsure, so hopefully they won’t need to post any more threads about it

Don’t get your hopes too high. 343 said they would’nt have any classic maps on the shipped disc. If classics return, it won’t be until DLC arrives.

Not at launch.

There is a possibility of getting 1 classic map as DLC but I’d rather have no remakes though. They tend to play worse than the originals.

But every now and then you get a Coag, or a Last Resort, or an Avalanche, Heretic, Cold Storage, Penance, Solitary, Ridgeline, Asylum, Warlock, Elongation, or Beaver Creek. Not all remakes are bad. Some (Pinnacle, Hemorrhage, Reflection) just don’t fit into the game that they are in.

The key is finding out which maps can fit in the game and if not, how they can fit in the game (rescaling).

Please don’t tell me you think Heretic and Asylum are better than Midship and Sanctuary…

I thought it would be obvious! I’m 99% sure the map is going to be some version of Blood Gulch(giant canyon 2 bases), like all other previous halos.

No obviously not. But that doesn’t change the fact that they are damn good maps. Almost no map can match its predecessor, but some can still play well and deserve to be brought back. I’d play on Asylum any day before I’d play on Sword Base, Countdown, Spire, Boardwalk, Uncaged, or Powerhouse.

It could be with one of the forge maps they create for Matchmaking?

Finally Something Completely new

Maybe as one map DLC like Chillout in Halo 3.

Please be Last Resort!

I hope BTB gets some love in Halo 4. I would definitely welcome back Avalanche and Sandtrap. Although a spiritual successor to either one would be just as neat.

They are.

Valhalla please.

Bring back The Pit, Construct or Guardian!

I’d love to see Waterworks from Halo 2.

I can almost guarantee you that they are going to make a Halo 2 Anniversary released on November 9th 2014. It will include classic maps (my guesses): Zanzibar, Lockout, Midship along with a few other maps. I would guess between 6-8 maps that they will bring back.

Amen

other maps i would like to see are: Warlock, Turf, Relic, Terminal, Elongation or Sanctuary or Ivory Tower or Ascension. Last three are less likely as they are in Halo Reach.

The one thing that I think Reach will have over Halo 4 initially is that Reach has all these great maps that are classics to players who’ve played the series. Examples,

Ivory Tower
Sanctuary
Ascension
Blood Gulch

and of course
the Anniversary map pack

I think it will be a remake of a Halo CE map or Halo 2 Map, since Halo 3 is still playable online. But i’m definitely not counting any H3 maps out!!

Top 5
1-Lockout
2-Turf
3-Terminal
4-Boarding Action
5-Guardian or The Pit (I’m 50/50 on these two)

Not to be a downer on all the Nostalgic fans but having the same maps from older games never really works in the newer versions I’m means they are good to look at but never really work as they did in older games, Having Halo 4 ship with all Brand new maps is something to really look forward to instead of just looking back at the classics all the time.
