Basically how Halo 3 was, team slayer with no loadouts and everyone spawns with either the AR or BR depending on what was voted for pre-match and set spawns for power weapons.
Yes or No?

I would love it because it brings the skill aspect involved.
I would love one but unless the next TU gives the option to disable sprint then a true classic playlist can’t happen. I’d love to get some ranked classic going in Halo 4. It would probably end up with a low population though.
Can you guys see the results? I can’t, I think i’ve set it to hidden by accident
AR/Pistol starts with no motion tracker, some Halo CE Slayer Pro.
I am in full support of more classic gametypes along with weapon placement on maps.
The maps aren’t really set up for classic though…Neither in size nor jump heights I believe…I think w/e they eventually do with Pro will be classic enough for me…
Veto for BRs

I’d rather have BR/AR starts than AR/Magnum, and definitely keep the motion tracker. 343i shouldn’t try to recreate CE or any Halo game for that matter, but to build a gametype with classic fundamentals that stands on its own. In other words, keep the BR a 5sk, remove sprint and loadouts, and set up maps with static spawns and weapon spawn locations, and keep the rest of the game as-is.
Think “Classic Halo” in general, not a CE gametype.

Some would work well, like Abandon and Haven. 343i wouldn’t have to increase jump height by much, if at all for a classic playlist. If anything, reduce player gravity by a bit to make things like grenade jumping more viable, but Halo 4’s jump height is pretty high as it stands (this video is a good reference).
no because noobs need ordinances. and if they play against a team who knows what they are doing and knows how to control weapon spawns and map positioning then they dont get thier precious rockets and snipers and dmg boost and over shields and rail guns and everything else that makes this game great for 6 year olds
and everyone of these maps are absolutly atrocious.

And I’d say you can take your beloved BR and eat it. Never liked that gun myself. Either give me an auto or a semi I say and Halo 4 gave me both in the way of the AR and DMR…though that DMR needs some serious rebalancing…
I mean I love the DMR, but as it stands now any little nublet can pick it up and start wrecking the place.
I said AR/Magnum because not only is it my favorite loadout of the game so far, it’s also very well rounded. The AR can tear things up at close and maybe medium range, the Magnum with it’s high power, accuracy and the scope can handle what the AR can’t. They complement each other really well.
Plus it allows you to keep a tactical package that further complements them like say “Resupply” for a more consistent stream of grenades, or AA Efficiency if you’re into faster ability charging.
Classic playlists already exist.
> Classic playlists already exist.
And where are these classic playlists that you speak of?
> Classic playlists already exist.
Where are they in Halo 4 matchmaking? If I’ve been blind and haven’t seen them then please point me to where I can find them in the Halo 4 playlists.

It’s called Halo CE, Halo 2, and Halo 3.
It will never happen. 343 is too damn stuck on the damn infinity crap and it would upset too many people who like to have power weapons fall from the sky.
leaving sprint in is fine w/me just NO LOADOUTS…
AR/Pistol or
BR/DMR pistol and NO AA’s motion tracker also fine…would be fantastic…

So first 343 shouldn’t try to recreate CE or any other halo game, but recreate the game type from 3?
Personally I’m glad we’ve evolved past h3 game types.

This is the most extreme fail I’ve ever seen.
We are BORED with Halo CE, 2, and 3. They are all outdated. Is it too much to ask for some new content, that the fans of HALO, you know, that game that existed up until like 3 years ago, can go to play HALO, instead of Reach and Reach 2?
> The maps aren’t really set up for classic though…Neither in size nor jump heights I believe…
^^He’s right. Every map released by 343 is designed with sprint, jetpack and all the other AA’s in mind. Take them out, they don’t play like they’re supposed to, and they’ll also be much more boring.
The thing is, in halos 1-3, the whole Multiplayer Experience revolved around good map design. Now, it’s all centered around how to balance the AA’s, and when you take them out, the maps get really boring to play. This also goes for old map remakes; the AA’s break what was once really good map design.
In order to make a classic playlist, we’ll need a playlist that’s completely comprised of community-made remakes, since 343 will only want to make maps designed for the gameplay that they want us to play (and reasonably so, it’s their game).
I would love for there to be a classic playlist where 343 takes the best 4v4 remakes (lockout, pit, turf, guardian, ascension, etc), and gives us gametypes with no sprint and no instant respawn, with the choice between Classic AR and Classic BR as well as various objective. This takes very little time out of 343’s work schedule, and it also gives us what we want. So all in all, a win-win scenario for everyone.
