Halo 4 Clan system and BTB

I’m not sure if you’re aware, many of you are, if you watched the MLG footage of Halo 4 multiplayer you’ll notice that the team names are NOT Red Team and Blue Team.

They are made up names. Now while 343 Industries hasn’t shed any light on the subject, I believe that Halo 2’s clan system in some aspect will be brought back in Halo 4. Perhaps a “friends list” in game so you can see other members of your team/clan (whatever you like to call it).

For BTB, I see this as a great thing happening. If you search with members that are on “your team”, you should be able to match up against other teams. this will make the matchmaking experience better for everything. This way you won’t have players searching without friends getting steamrolled by full parties in matchmaking, and full parties are able to match others for a less boring, spawn killing game. I’ve been on both sides and they’re both just boring.

I hope to see that 343 Industries will reveal this system since you can name you own teams, but we will find out over this summer.

Those names are not customisable, the ones in the E3 demo were placeholders. However, 343i says that you will be able to choose different team names. It’s a bit confusing but 343i will probably talk a bit more about it later this year.

I would love a clan system in Halo 4.

Being able to change the team emblem and name would be awesome, it might just be a cannon thing however, I do hope it is for clans.

Why is it that we keep getting denied a clan system? People want this!

Agreed. With ranking support for clans too.

Hmpf, it appears that WILL be the case!

In game leaderboards would be nice.

Someone said they were placeholder names - either for the “Red VS Blue” Infinity scenario, or yes, hopefully a clan system.

I think we need leaderboards as a number 1 priority, preferably individual leaderboards for each playlist, and then a clan system, because lets be honest, a clan system is a friends list with a special name

Frankie or someone else already said it’s a cannon thing…

So…it looks like my cannon idea may be a little off, but I also remember reading that the names would be from different squads on the infinity ship, but I can’t find that post right now.

This is it, bulletin 6.13.12 E3 Q&A

Demon and Fury are two names of War Games squads. Will we be able to pick the name for our squad? Will it be from a list of pre-selected names compiled by 343? Also, why are there different names for Spartan Ops squads (Majestic and Crimson)? –HaloFanForLife1

Those were temp names for the E3 build. The final game will ship with variants aplenty, but these will not be user customizable, nor should they be confused with clans, groups or other social modes of team identification. Effectively these are fictional constructs that we will give the player some choice options for.

I Dont even really use the Fourms, But i really hope that they bring Halo 2 Clans into Halo 4! It would just make that game Beat every other game just that much more, People DEMAND Clans Its just what we need into games of today.

Any kind of clan/Team system would be great …

Customizable
Team names
Team emblems

Really anything would be great maybe a better H2 system

I agree with you. The clan system is important. Building off of that, maybe in the search preferences you set, have that as an option.

I simply would like full parties to be facing other full parties.

The key difference being that our FL contains players from other games too, and due to the “slowness” of the Xbox menus when it comes to sending requests or simply popping up, it gives us a very clunky experience. An in-game FL/clan system would be very very welcome with me ^^
