Here is what I think should happen to Halo 4’s matchmaking.
Gameplay Changes
- DMR - Reduce auto-aim and Rate of fire
- Change 2 plasma per loadout to 1
- Slightly Buff Chain Warthog HP
- Remove all Random Ordnance on Map and use Initial, Respawning Ordnance (I will elaborate)
- Buff Carbine
- Reduce Flinch, Stability removes flinch entirely
Playlist Additions + Changes

Infnity Slayer - Remove Instant Respawn, Weaken Personal Ordnance to the following weapons - Scattershot

Increase PO requirement points to 100

I singled these part out right away, and this is not how the DMR should be balanced at all. If you balance it like so, it would play more like a CC or a magnum.

The fact that people are asking for more bloom now, is unbelievably ironic. Pre-Halo 4 release for the entirety of Reach’s lifespan, people did nothing but ask for no bloom.

You guys are right. A ROF reduction would help out better than my ideas for the DMR. What do you think about the rest of the changes?
I think changing Stickies to 1 per loadout is crucial for BTB to continue in HALO.
People AVOID vehicles because of the 6-8 players with plasma pistals and stickies.
The community using these forums generally all agree the DMR needs a RoF reduction. I hope 343 will take our advise as they did with the boltshot’s previously rediculus range. (Thanks 343)
I do not think nearly every map should have a rocket and sniper ordinace duo. I find the game very repetitive that way. That said I do like having a few with them.
Random ordinace makes every game different. Map ordinace ATM is too uncommon on many maps. We need more frequent ordinance drops on non-dlc maps.
I personally think personal ordance primairly only serves to help the winning team win faster. When the people already winning get power weapons as personal rewards, it makes a comback very rare. That said I do not support death-rewards, so I am nutral on the subject.
The Overall gameplay of HALO 4 is my favorite of the franchise. The pace is great. The things pulling Halo down are the little things that can be fixed with changes that the great-majority of the players will agree with.

This is the theme of Halo 4, and Dominion’s last stand phase epitomizes this design goal.

I sort of think that if you give someone a ROD forge object that they focus on how to “fill in the slots” with weapons rather than focus on which weapons belong on the map in the first place. I know that happened to me initially.

No instant respawn - Yes
No PV and Camo - I personally think they are balanced, however Camo could use a shorter usage time, perhaps a sudden burst of camo with no radar jam that only lasts like 3 seconds, so you can quickly stealth attack someone or get away. Strong Camo that lasts only like 3 seconds. I like PV, I think it works.
Take out OP weapons in PODs - Yes, the 6 weapons I said in my OP should be the only ones
No killcam, meh, we have the option to skip it if IR is off and I like it, it doesn’t malfunction for me anymore.
Boltshot works now because of the nerf.
Plasma pistol is fine, just reduce auto aim (maybe take auto aim off for vehicles, like your crosshair cannot turn red and heat seek a vehicle)
I edited my post to update it to some new personal ordnance ideas. I’ve playtested them for 4v4’s AND for FFA’s and they work very well.
Left: Sticky Det + Speed Boost
Middle: OS + Concussion Rifle
Right: Damage Boost + Needler
