Halo 4 can't afford to keep its poor design

There’s this game called ‘Supreme Commander 2’ for the Xbox 360 that has a TON of glitches. One of the glitches is being able to gather resources over ten times faster than normal (without glitching) in online matches. The regular game without glitches was fun, but with the glitches it was much more fun being online.

I believe the same thing is happening with Halo 4 involving the daily XP limit. People are actively searching for methods to find glitches to get past the daily XP cap because it’s essentially restricting their enjoyment of the game.

The difference between Supreme Commander 2 and Halo 4 is that you will get banned for glitching past the XP limit in Halo 4. I know, I know: “why don’t you just play the game and get enjoyment from that”. I get enjoyment out of playing the regular game, but I consider “progression” in the XP system to elevate that experience for me. It’s almost an industry standard for players to be able to earn some form of XP in online play.

Halo is in competition with other game titles so continuing to have a poorly designed XP system among other things will be hurting them in the long run. Why play a game that restricts your progression when there’s plenty of other alternatives out there? They could’ve learned so much from a beta but decided not to out of incompetence.

The COD games have been getting bigger and bigger each year while Halo has thus far become its biggest when Halo: Reach came out. If 343i doesn’t get their Yoink! together Halo will continue to become smaller and smaller.

I agree the XP cap should be done away with, but not for the reasons you said.

I also believe that it should be removed for other reasons, but I was pointing out the most impactive reason why it should be removed.
