Halo 4- Campaign

Well, everyone seems pissed off about the MM, why dont we start talking about the campaign and the story and stuff instead of screaming ’ WE DONT WANT COD HALO’! Post all thoughts about campaign here.

My thoughts: Sounds pretty cool judging from the GI, except when i heard that elites are attaking you again AND are with the covenant now, opposite to what happened in H3, anyone know what happened in those 4-5 years?

thank god, a post thats not about people complaining about how halo 4 has turned into COD, which for the record it hasnt, because i hate COD and iam already in love the whole 15 or so secends of gameplay we’ve been so graciaously given by 343.

the campagain looks… awesome, and i havent seen any gameplay of it yet, but from the screen shots of the inside of the Forward Unto Dawn or whatever its called, it looks pretty epic, and the fact that we’re fighting Elites again is pretty awesome too

I am looking forward to campaign the most, i am not too bothered about multiplayer and i cant wait too find out what the new enemy will be. Also the graphics look amazing.

isnt their suppose to be one new book coming out this year? most likely will explain why these elites and grunts and more are attacking chief, but I cant wait, to see this new enemy, to see the UNSC, and hopefully more spartans (Who am I kidding we will see more spartans)

I know right? Those other forums are filled with impatient ragers!

I am confused a little at why the elites are evil again and that they aren’t well equipped.

Hmm, so am i

I agree, the campaign actually does look pretty awesome. i hope they dont include sprint as a default for campaign and have only minor use of armor abilities.

And when i heard we were fighting against instead of alongside the elites, my heart sank a little, wait no, a lot. Playing alongside elites in halo 3 and abit of 2 were some of the most epic battles ever. i just loved to have allies with energy sheilds and that were actually useful. What i hope will happen is that it turns out that later in the campaign, the elites and/or the rest of the covenant will become allies with the humans to join forces against the new enemy, now THAT would be epic.

I will -Yoink!- my pants

Iam also looking forward to the vehical missions they have, esspecially the warthog levels, because the hog looks sooo cool, not to mention the epic dyson sphere thing were all takes place in.

A warthog run as a last mission would be cool, but iam sure they’re probably gonna save that for halo 5 or 6 considering they had one in 3 and bungie didnt include one in halo 2

Instead of a hog run, have a massive escape where you get to drive a scarab, and destroy everything in your path

Man, I can’t wait to get the extra day one DLC campaign expansion pack featuring Snoop Dogg for 1200 MS points.

"Finizzle the fightizzle, fo’ rizzle."

The games were a great way to end the series (Halo 3). But as for why we’re fighting for the elites, its actually been covered in the novel aspects of the Halo Universe…

I’m not going to spoil the books for you and I recommend others to let you find out for yourself why. Go out and get those books people and you’ll really understand the Covenant…

Ok i have already read ALL the books except for Glasslands. I know the covenant, which is why i am confused about the elites being back in it, unless they are leading it without the brutes and prophets, then it will make sense.

no wait, i have an even better idea! you drive all the vehicals destroying everything in your path, and then lastly, A WARTHOG RUN AGAINST A HALO DETONATION… yes… i like it… not at all possible, unless the warthog was powered by the drivetrain of a 1977 Pontiac Trans Am, but still, it sounds pretty awesome…

speaking of 1977 Pontiac Trans Ams, do you think that 343 will include a Pelican in Custom games/forge? that my fellow comrades, would be “the balls”

WARNING, BOOK SPOILERS IN THIS POST. IF YOU DO NOT WANT GLASSLANDS SPOILED FOR YOU, SKIP RIGHT OVER IT AND ANY POSTS QUOTING IT.

Right, well here’s the explanation(s) for the Elites:

Q: Why aren’t they well armored or armed?

My A:

If you read Glasslands, you can tell the Elites are in a state of anxiety and disrepair after the war. They were all committed to being soldiers in the Covenant because lesser races could handle the less honorable duties. As such, at the end of the war Sanghelios as a whole is in a state of awkward disrepair. Very few living Elites can farm, repair, and maintain their cities/ships/vehicles very well. Naturally, their armed forces are likely to have become more or less ragtag.

Q: Why would they be working with other Covenant!?!?

My A:

Their only true enemies are the Prophets and Brutes. Grunts were even present on Sanghelios after the war; many seemed to continue to service the Elites (whom one would think are more fair to them than the Brutes would have been). Due to their menial and manual labor skills, they are probably invaluable to the Sangheili. Also, in lieu of having a large standing army with working armor and shields, Grunts serve as good cannon fodder when in need.

Jackals have reverted to their pirating/mercenary ways, and some are known to work with Elites as well. Hunters honorably dedicated many of their services and forces to the Elites as opposed to the Brutes. Some of course worked with the Brutes, but nonetheless many Hunters remained with the Elites. It is feasible to believe that some Hunters remained with the Elites as part of their fallen army.

Since we don’t know what species (I think?) are involved in assaulting Chief, I can’t say why they’re all working together in armed actions unless it is the above species.

Q: Why would they attack Chief? Didn’t we make nice?

My A:

Well, we were allied primarily due to a matter of circumstance. We /needed/ eachother to stop Truth. As evidenced in Glasslands, only select parties were really interested in seeing the Elites and humans become long standing allies. Lord Hood and the Arbiter as well as anyone loyal to them wanted to see the alliance happen, or at least get along decently. Others like O.N.I. and older Sangheili churches want the two races to remain apart- ONI wants the Sangheili to initiate civil war and keep their race on their knees. The Sangheili extremists want to wipe out humanity before they have the chance to rebuild. It’s feasible to believe that the group assaulting you in Halo 4 will be of the faction that does not want an alliance- We will find out more as the sequel to Glasslands is due before Halo 4. At the end of Glasslands, a major explosion had just taken place on Sanghelios, foreshadowing the potential civil war.

Hope this information helped you all!
