Halo 4 campaign why I didn't care for it

The halo 4 campaign had only one surprise moment in the whole campaign but it wasn’t all that big because it just seemed like they gave it to you when the master chief was face to face with the didact for the first time. An example I was hoping would be in halo 4 campaign would be like in halo 3 when the flood joined the humans and elites for the briefest moment to take down the remaining covy. Or in halo 2 when a civil war broke out mainly between the brutes and elites in halo CE when the flood first appear they were kinda scary to fight because of the music. In halo 4 there was no scary music with the didact to make it interesting Or no big suprizes. In halo 5 I can only hope that there will be better music and more surprises during the campaign. Don’t get me wrong though in halo 4 there was a scene that gave me Chills it was when the didact arrived into the game but everything after that I was hoping for more suprizes but it just turned out to be -Yoink-!

So you wanted to be surprised…? I mean I don’t know about anyone else, I found Cortana’s death pretty surprising and In Halo 4 the reason why it didn’t have any scary music is because it didn’t have any flood and the Covenant by that point wasn’t more of a scare but an eyesore.

The campaign itself made up for the other Halo games that has failed to bring such a good story to the table since 2007.

The final fight was a major let down. I wanted to actually fight the didact not push a few buttons and it be done.

> The final fight was a major let down. I wanted to actually fight the didact not push a few buttons and it be done.

the Didact kills Chief was a flick of his wrist if you don’t plant the grenade, chief would die

the hammer wielding bullet sponge from halo 2 would like to have a word with you.

Yeah, I definitely see the fight (if it was one) the most proper. I can’t see Chief punching and kicking him with his super strength and having it amount to anything considering those attacks will just be nothing but hugs and tickles to the Didact. Most people still maintain the “Well come on, we need a big boss fight finale, something we can all enjoy gameplay wise.” But the problem with that is, the story isn’t always catered towards gameplay, especially cinematic sequences where it pours over to a semi quick time event.

Given the end where Chief is at, there is no weapons for him to use. This isn’t Halo 3 where you have a Spartan Laser and nuke the light bulb.

However, this all isn’t to say I don’t see your point fellow Halo fans. I would have much liked a cool fight sequence where you face off against a giant threat to humanity. They made it this way so you just got to deal with it.

At least that was actually DOING something.

Tartarus wasn’t as challenging as he should have been. Overpowering too, which made him unpleasant to face even on Easy.

But there were many things that could be done there, you didn’t have to kill him outright like with Didact.

The Tartarus boss battle has MASSIVE replayability. You can:

-bring Hunters
-bring Rtas Vadum
-clone Johnson
-enlist Miranda Keyes to distract Tartarus
-bring vehicles, even the Wraith
-make an army of Elites, customize their guns and rank, as well as make them all cloaked (turn on Assassins skull and betray them), and send them to Tartarus. You can have a Ghost army and if you managed to bring Banshees, you can get a Banshee swarm attacking Tartarus. You can also have a Johnson army vs. Elite army!!!

It failed as a boss battle IMO but the level design was top notch (just a few flaws, like how Elites die when they fall to the bottom platform and how there are no checkpoints).

Didact on the other hand, this is about the only significant thing you can do with that QTE. You can do some minor stuff like launching crates up there but Chief and Didact aren’t physical.

O_O

I didn’t know you could do all this!

:D:D

I still might have some videos lying around. Here’s one.

Maybe because we’re knew before the game came out, we will face the Didact.
2011 E3, we heard the name “Promethean”, pretty much Didact.
2011 E3, at the and of the video, there is the Didact’s symbol and voice.

TD;LR The Didact was surprising as hell, but only on E3. Who doesn’t said a “WHOA!” when the Knight jumped into Chief’s face in E3?

I didn’t.

The knight introduction was weak.

Those Didact teases did get me excited.

Yet the Knight was doing the ‘scream in your face’ routine, nothing too interesting. Though the Battlewagon knocking out Chief at the end was a nice touch.

The didact would rip Master Chief to shreds if they fought.

Somehow your answer doesn’t surprised me Cobra. Somehow doesn’t.

I loved it. I was on edge the whole time, just like Reach. The music was good too, a change from previous titles which I do love, but not too far away from a Halo feel, I especially loved Midnight <3

I’ll just leave this here. xD

Can you tell the difference between glitch and mod?
