Halo 4 Campaign Summary (Spoilers)

This is a mostly unbiased approach on the Halo 4 Campaign Storyline. Feel free to add any viable information so I can complete this. But don’t forget to post the sources for the information you got. Otherwise, I won’t take your notes into account.

Also note that many details are based on close inspection of trailers and concept art and screenshots. Some sources repeat. I did mention every source just once.

Starting off, this is the first third of the Halo 4 Campaign.

A prologue will open the campaign, showing all the things that have happened so far in the previous trilogy.

Cortana appears on the Control Panel in the Cryo Chamber of the wreckage of the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn on July 21, 2557 (a 7 reference). The wreckage starts shaking. When Cortana detects an intrudor aboard the wreckage of the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn, she wakes John-117 up from his cryo sleep. There will be no word on why the Covenant broke the truce with humanity nor on for what reason they are in the area. The Chief will engage a single Elite with an Energy Sword and throws him down an elevator shaft. Upon reaching the observation deck of the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn, the Master Chief and Cortana discover that a Covenant Fleet surrounds the wreckage and that Covenant boarding Crafts are heading for the frigate. At that time, the wreckage is in orbit of a planet.

The wreckage of the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn will crash on Requiem after it was pulled through the opening of the Dyson Sphere together with a Covenant CCS-class battlecruiser. The Master Chief and Cortana will survive the crash.

Cortana has to deal with three problems:
(1) the expiration of her ending lifespan
(2) the information gathered from Forerunner technology and the Gravemind
(3) the state called rampancy which she has reached by now

The Master Chief deals off with surviving Covenant enemies.

So this is the second third of the campaign so far.

After bowing over an object on a cliffside, the Master Chief watches the UNSC Infinity descend through the clouds over Requiem. Cortana and the Chief intercept an emergency signal by the Captain of the ship without responding to it. Cortana predicts its impact 77.8 km to the north. Immediately after the appearance of the UNSC Infinity, a Cryptum decloakes behind the Chief, scanning the area and boosting after the UNSC Infinity.
John-117 and Cortana follow them. They arrive at a cliff in a jungle where they can see the UNSC Infinity, the Cryptum hovering in the distance and Covenant forces (Phantoms & Banshees) heading for the area. Cortana sets a route to the huge ship. The two heroes hear a strange sound. A scout group of two Grunts, one Jackal and one Elite discover the Chief. John-117 can take out all enemies except the Elite. This one pulls his Energy Sword and charges at the Spartan but is desintegrated by a yellow laser. Nothing but glowing ashes is left of the Sangheili. The Master Chief and Cortana see a teleportation spot disappear on a tree stem. A voice announces over the comm-system that all ground forces are ordered to return to the UNSC Infinity immediately. There was possible insurgence (?) on multiple levels. The Master Chief then engages Crawlers which Cortana believes to be some kind of Defense AIs, definitely not Covenant. John-117 joins a retreating group of Crawlers. One of them looks up as a Promethean Knight jumps on John-117. Cortana believes that it is not organic. The Promethean Knight delivers a Watcher.
After having already encountered the Covenant, John-117 will engage the Prometheans Knights, the Crawlers and the defense AIs called Watchers. Those enemies will fight and defend against the Master Chief with a bunch of new stuff not having been unveiled yet.
Master Chief finds new weapons that Cortana recognizes as Forerunner.
Another emergency call announces Code Red as enemy elements intend to enter the UNSC Infinity’s bridge. John-117 arrives at a misty place, uses his Promethean Vision and watches a dozen enemies spawn around him. One Promethean Lancer rushes at the Chief.

Note: The order of the following events is not confirmed!

The Master Chief will see a vehicle which looks like a mech. The same vehicle will rise and fly off at the same place.

John-117 will use a ghost on the night side of Requiem. He heads for a cliff and just in front of him a Phantom dropship crashes in a hill.

The Master Chief will be lying on the ground, clunching his hand. His assault rifle is next to him.

The Master Chief will traverse a rocky desert terrain with UNSC forces which will engage Covenant enemies there. It is the same terrain where the Master Chief is inside a big wheeled vehicle. He leaves the vehicle with a Warthog and support.

John-117 (?) encounters someone or something that has long dreamt of this day. The voice also calls the Spartan Reclaimer.

An Ancient Evil awakens and it is bent on vengeance and annihilation. The Master Chief will not only find new enemies on the mysterious world of Requiem but also deadly technology.

That bit of information is known about the last third of the Campaign.

Near the end of the game, the Master Chief John-117 is about to go on a war. The last thing he’s gonna see is a couple of Marines living out a real moment.

Awesome! And where have these been confirmed?

I will tag this thread as favourite and see if you’re correct after I play Halo 4’s campaign. :stuck_out_tongue:

NinjaPro, just look at all the links. It was confirmed in screenshots, gameplay and trailers. I hope it’s all correct what I said. I tried to make it unbiased and add as many sources as possible.

I heard somehwere that Cortana doesn’t go rampant in Halo 4. But later in the trilogy.

The UNSC Infinity arrives a third of the way through the game. Not 2/3.

If this is actually true when Halo 4 comes out, I’ll make sure 343i/bs angel accommodates you fo this…

Thanks

Where did you see that the Infinity would arrive after 2/3 in my summary?

Lasky will probably become a Spartan IV and Im excited for the Forward Unto Dawn web series that will feature Lasky and Master Chief.

I can tell you’re excited given your username

That last part was confirmed to be a joke by frankie.

Yeah, the last part does seem to be a bit far-fetched.

The hangar fight screenshot reminds me of Cairo Station. Nothing in Halo was more brutal than those battles.

The Cairo hangar battles make T&R’s boarding battle look like a joke. They’re similar in that they both have waves that will spawn regardless of how many enemies you’ve killed but they’re different in that the latter (T&R) is more random (up to 10 Zealots but it’s possible to go through the fight with no Zealots spawning) and tolerable (less punishing). H2 Cairo was hell. Noob combo was pretty much the only reliable way to get past these fights. Though I obviously don’t want to have to do that in H4, I do want intense, fast paced combat.

A Spartan IV? I thought he had become a leading officer aboard the UNSC Infinity by the time of Halo 4. It is very interesting that after 30 years he will meet the Spartan-117 again in an abandoned location. What a coincidence!

Are you sure? It would make sense if it was right. Why else would Multiplayer be called WAR games?

> The hangar fight screenshot reminds me of Cairo Station. Nothing in Halo was more brutal than those battles.

Uhmm, it is not a hangar fight screenshot. It is on the Observation Deck A2. Look at the wall to the right. But I agree, it does remind me of Cairo Station too.
