When i first played halo 4 campaign i was satisfied. However, when i replayed the campaign i seriously had to force myself to contuine. The campaign is way to linear and some of the sections are a grind to say the least.
In halo 3 i loved every aspect about the campaign. It wasnt linear, you could explore a fair bit until you had to contuine to story. Also there were alot of memorable moments in halo 3, such as fighting those two scarabs, defeating gulity spark, the warthog run, and so many more. In halo 4 i can not think of any moments that were memorable. The final battle with the didact was a joke, a quick time sequence?, you serious, even my 5 year old cousin could do that.
For me the most memorable levels in halo 3 were:
-The Covenant
-The Ark
-Halo
and maybe the storm.
For me the most memorable level in halo 4:
-Probably the opening cutscene lol
So what is your favourite/memorable level in halo 3 and/or halo4
Halo 4’s Campaign is boring and not memorable in the slightest. I just replayed Halo 2 and Halo 3’s Campaigns (they’re so interconnected and similar that they feel like one game) and they were so much better than Halo 4 - and the rest of the series, for that matter. Halo 4 feels like a generic sci-fi game with the Halo title slapped onto it.
The most memorable Halo missions to me have been (all of Halo 2 and) The Ark, The Covenant, and Halo.
The entire game for me. I enjoyed the story behind Chief and Cortana the most
I really enjoyed the campaign and have played through it a few times. It could have been a bit longer but that’s my only criticism so I’m not bothered.
Our opinions at the end of the day.
I did enjoy halo 4 campaign thought the story was good but halo 3 campaign just made me come back for more.halo 4 still good thou.
I truly LOVE Halo 4’s campaign. The story with Cortana and John was beautifully told. 343i wanted to give John a voice, and make it so he’s not just a blank face in armor. They pulled that off spectacularly, in my opinion.

This is also my opinion. It is also what makes Halo 4 a resounding success for me.
I found that, because the game was more linear, the pacing of the story was better. Halo 4 is not so much about the Didact, but rather the Chief trying his utmost to save Cortana, and failing.
As far as a first part of a trilogy, I have not qualms with the Didact QTE. It is not as if John-117 could face off with him in a fair fight…
I loved the campaign. I of course love 2 and 3, played 3 the other day, but this campaign I loved for a few reasons. The Chief talked more and wasn’t as much of a shadow. The amazing graphics and scenery, the star wars like Broadsword run, Reclaimer, even the music I loved.
I enjoy H4’s campaign much more than 2 & 3’s… My only complaints are that it was a bit short and that you could barely hear the music in the background. Seriously, H4 Has a great soundtrack especially vol. 2, but during the campaign it’s toned down too much & you only hear a few tracks from the entire soundtrack… But that’s just my opinion on this matter
The Didact wasn’t well developed in the game. He was an awesome character to read about in the books, but in the game he’s like a grouchy old man who wants the humans to get off his lawn. I recently replayed it, and loved it more than I remember I loved it. However, hitting the switch to advance to the next part was kind of repetitive and boring. Also, the intelligence of the AI has significantly changed. They work together a little too well. Don’t know if admirable or annoying.
Halo 4’s Campaign was good but could of been much better.
As for best mission in it, i am not sure.
I thought the first four missions were better than the last four.

Although…it was sad to lose Cortana.

Wtf are you talking about? It was completely linear. In fact, every Halo game’s campaign is. One of the few things that I dislike about all of them.
Really, I have absolutely no idea where you’re getting this “non-linear” nonsense from. The only discernible difference there ever was, was that the enemies sometimes had different ranks. Seriously, WHERE did you get the non-linear idea from? My brain is exploding at that one sentence.
And what are you talking about, no memorable moments? Flying a Pelican (that can shoot lasers) for the first time? The Broadsword trench run? I’ll admit, a QTE in place of an actual boss fight was disappointing, but the whole finale area leading up to it beforehand, with Arrival playing? How was that not “memorable” to you?
Really, I would be resorting to personal insults right now if it wouldn’t get me moderated. I just… have no idea why you think pretty much any of those things.

Agreed. Was VERY memorable. Also, don’t forget the first time fighting a new enemy, the ghost run, the first time using a bada$$ Mantis, and the list goes on…
My biggest issues with the campaign are:
-
It does seem linear, in the sense that you pretty much have to play through it the same way every time. One of the things I loved about Halo 3 and Reach (though to a lesser extent in Reach) is that I have the option to play parts differently, and in many parts the enemies are not entirely predictable.
-
The enemies suck. Covenant movement is wrong, they look wrong, and they sound wrong (especially grunts). They’re boring. I hate the Prometheans. Nothing Halo about them, and I hate that they appear out of thin air and that Knights can disappear just as I’m about to finish them off, especially when they reappear two feet away from me and kill me. I don’t enjoy the enemies in this game. Big disappointment there for me.
> Wtf are you talking about? It was completely linear. In fact, every Halo game’s campaign is. One of the few things that I dislike about all of them.
I guess it depends on what you think “linear” means in this context. There were many times in Halo 3 and Reach when something was different than when I’d played it before. That adds a lot of replay value for me.
It was the case in many parts of Halo 3 where there were different strategies I could use to deal with a challenge or move through an area. I hate games is which I know that to deal with this section I have to do this or that section I have to do that, and in some other section I have to use this vehicle and so on. I felt there was more of that in Halo 4 than in Halo 3 or even Reach.
I’d played through Reach’s campaign multiple times, and one day I was playing through New Alexandria LASO. After I disabled the jammer in the hospital I waited for the Ranger Elites to come in the room, and I had my strategy for dealing with them all figured out, except that unlike every other time I’d played that mission, they didn’t show up. Hmm. That was odd. Turns out they were all out in the round lobby that time. I had to figure out a completely new strategy for getting by them.
It was all Master Chief and Cortana interacting, everything else had a dimmed out light bulb above it so you don’t really notice it.
I personally would have liked the game more if Lasky and Palmer had a larger role.
After watching “Forward unto Dawn” I really liked the young protagonist, and felt that some sort of great reunion would occur. But in Halo it feels more like this:
Lasky: Hey, it’s been a while!
Master Chief: Yep.
…
game continuoes
Played it about 7 times even completed it on LASO would do it again and again.
