One thing i didn’t really like about the Reach campaign was that it didn’t have a mission that gave you the ability to have fire fights in the air, a large scale of vehicles, long driving parts, and CQC all in one. My favorite mission out of all of the Halo games has to be The Covenant in Halo 3. At the beginning you can use a Warthog or a Mongoose to invade the first tower. You are forced to get out had fight the Covenant with your guns now. After that You get in a Hornet and take down a few Banshees and Phantoms. After you invade the last tower you get to pick between a Scorpion, Mongoose, Warthog, Ghost, Chopper, and a Prowler. And the best part of that level is taking down the two Scarabs with those vehicles.
I want a level like this in Halo 4. A large scale mission with a variety of different fighting styles and a huge selection of vehicles. And a couple of Scarab like enemy’s wouldn’t hurt either.
I feel like 343 is really looking into what made the past campaigns amazing, and which parts really stood out, and try to provide those in Halo 4.
Although I don’t expect them to throw all their magic into one hat, they do have at least 2 other games on the table, and to use up everything on the first “big” try, wouldn’t necessarily be the wisest choice.
But I do expect them to “WOW” the community with big and small decisions made throughout the campaign. Some stuff they have already told/showed use. Kinda how we will stay in 1st person at times throughout the campaigns cutscenes, I’m pretty excited about that TBH.
And some new vehicles that have been yet to be revealed, that have been stated to be bigger then that unusable mech on warhouse? or wraparound? one of the 2.
So yes. I have faith in 343 to deliver epic stages of play.
Hmmm you seem to be on to something
This will never happen but i wish there was a part of a level where you have to start off with no weapons and use your fists until you get armed. Then again this is a FPS so ehhh.

Why will it never happen?

I loved that mission too. But Halo: Reach wasn’t about grand scale battles and given the fact we we’re after a prophet… the main hierarchical leader of the covenant traitors.

We are fighting someone new and covenant factions still loyal to the prophets… I doubt we’re going to be seeing a scarab anywhere in this game. It’s an introduction game, when you realize just how well this trilogy could potentially span out, this is definitely not going to be the massive battles games, oh no… this is going to be the shroud of mystery game…
tank beats hunter…tank beats wraith…tank beats EVERYTHING!!!
