Real quick question, does anyone know which button sprint is on? All of the buttons already have a function and I couldn’t think of a way that armor abilities could be used comfortably while sprinting still being possible at the same time.
For default controls you lick the Left Thumbstick to sprint.
ok so whats crouch? This is the same dilemma my friend and I had when we discussed this.
Thank you, I did a google search for a button layout but i completely had a derp moment and didn’t think to look at halo4nation.com.
Don’t want to sound like I’m complaining here but…
On the bumper jumper layout, why is AA left trigger and grenade set to X? Given common layouts on previous halo games, wouldn’t it make sense to switch those two back? Oh I know, people need to be able to spam AA’s.
Dear Lord,
Please convince devs to allow for custom controller mapping. Thanks.
I can’t really make it out because of the angles.
I just really hope they didn’t -Yoink- bumper jumper
I really don’t like the way they’re reworking the controls to accommodate the sprint/crouch issue. In just about all of those control options they seem to want to make you decide which one you would rather not have full movement controls over both sticks.
IMHO they should figure some way to allow both to co-exist on the left stick-click. The only trick would be to make sure you don’t run when you’re trying to crouch, and vice-versa. If they had it where clicking when stick is centered (or while jumping)=crouch and clicking when stick is pushed upwards=run and once activated neither can cancel out the other unless you release the click and click it again…it could work…and that way the control layyouts could pretty much remain the same as they have been on previous Halo games.

They definitely did ruin bumper jumper, unless someone altered the picture to get a rise out of people.
Guess I’ll just have to learn to use A to jump on a different layout. Losing nades just isn’t an option for me.

TBH, I wouldn’t mind something other than the stick for sprint. I’m already used to using X anyway from Reach and I never had a hard time switching to other games.
The button layouts are my only problem with halo 4 so far tbh
Bumper jumper with x for nades is an epic fail… It will make it difficult to even aim your nade
I understand jetpacking was hard to use with bumper jumper in reach, but i could make due with another AA
Imo, they should just switch AA back to x, and nades to LT… Grenades are much more important than AA’s
(most AA’s will probably just require a quick tap anyway)

Haha, lick the left thumbstick. These controls are getting wacky.
Yeah if they f#%? up Bumper Jumper im not buying the game.
But i have another idea: there are lots of petitions by handicapped gamers, who ask game companies for custom button layouting, so if we all do one big petition about this, and get known people to talk about it, and get 343’s attention, we have a win win situation.
Support this petition:
Please share it, post to as many forums as possible, and sign it, not just for you but for every gamer out there!
343 can’t just dump all these new abilities and mechanics and just expect to nail the control scheme first time! Custom controls are a necessary part modern day gaming and would ensure 100% of the population play the game the way they want… no more excuses, not more adapting to layouts, more importantly no more ISSUE"S.
Does anyone know of a xbox remap controller? Halo 4 will be unplayable with the system there implementing.

Already confirmed that 343 is still working out the controls as well. Nothing in E3 is final atm.
Those of you complaining about bumper jumper: learn to use a gun and stop relying on grenades. Why waste precious real estate on grenades when you’re just gonna spam them every time you spawn? I’m scared to think some of you might be spawning with THREE grenades to top it all off!
It may be catering to AAs but the alternative is much worse. I hope bumper jumper stays this way. In fact, the other schemes should take notes.
I’ll go with Recon, but not too happy about sprint being on X. This will mean you can’t sprint and look around at the same time (at least not the way I hold the controller).
Leave sprint on L1, where we are all used to it, and move the AA to R1. The reload/action can be on X, that’s no major adjustment.
Any Recon users agree or have other ideas?
Soooo…no crouching if you want to sprint?

“bumper jumper needs to be fixed… Just switch LT and X… couldn’t deal with it otherwise.”
^^^Seriously needs to be fixed^^^
Switching LT and X is just illogical…
