Alright …As we all know brutes are a major part of the Halo series, but are also hated by Elites. A fraction of elites formed a new Covenant called “The Storm” and have already allied with Grunts, Jackals and Hunters… Not sure about drones but no one cares about these damn buggers …I guess the conclusion would be for Brutes to NOT be in the new Covenant since it’s formed by Brute hating Elites, so if they just happen to appear in Halo 4 they will be a common enemy, an enemy to the Storm, an enemy to the UNSC, and an enemy to the Prometheans …Brutes are dumb but strong, so it would be a very big advantage for anyone to have brutes on their side… Will the Elites just get over their conflict with the Brutes and gain an advantage over the UNSC (With Chief back in action we’ll see how good that advantage is!) or will the brutes decide to side with the humans, the very humans that they threatened to eat? Probably not cause Brutes aren’t dumb enough to side with the UNSC, because the Storm has multiple stealth, long-range and heavy weapons, tons of equipment and the UNSC is dumb (The only people that aren’t helpless in the UNSC are the playable ones! Except for Arby and Johnson) and maybe they will be betrayed by the Elites after a series of events… Which brings up a fan favorite character, ARBITER! What happened to the Arbiter? Is he coming back in Halo 4? That my friends, I have no clue about.
Please note that this doesn’t necessarily have to happen in Halo 4, it could just be in the reclaimer trilogy.
I don’t care as long as I get to shoot them …
I forgot to ask, does anyone else think that this is likely to happen? And if it does that you WILL remember this thread! And then imagine me just yelling “CALLED IT!”.
It seems like the most logical explanation if brutes are in Halo 4, there’s a high chance they will be, cause only they have grav hammers in campaign, and there’s an achievement for killing 3 crawlers with a grav hammer in the campaign.

Thats all you’re going on here? The comfirmation of hammers doesn’t mean we got brutes. We haven’t even seen them in concept art. We didn’t see the promethians but they’re new and were supposed to be a suprise (honestly I expected evil black and purple beings that moved like fog) The hammers could be scavenged by this splinter group of elite sepratists which is more likely. There are some brutes with the elite but they don’t trust them enough to give them hammers. And there aren’t that many brutes in that situation.

Give Him the Stick
In Mission 7 in solo Campaign, take out both Hunters using only the Sticky Detonator.

Did we see any hunters in any of the videos?
Having them as allies would be a refreshing change of pace.
It’s possible the “Storm” has some Brutes on their sides.
Wouldn’t be too much of them, but we know from Glasslands that the Elites basically kept some Brutes as “slaves” so to speak.
The inclusion of the Gravity Hammer suggests that we will at least see some Brutes during the campaign.
> Having them as allies would be a refreshing change of pace.
I don’t like them, they threatened to eat me.

Hunters I can understand. But with the Covenant essentially gone I see no reason why Elites would ever ally with brutes. The way they were in the covenant they weren’t allies. Also nice using achievements to validate all info, yes I see the name right there. I’ve still only seen brute thrown around on the forums and they are in no info still. Despite my strong opinion on this. If I’m wrong when the game releases then I’m just flat wrong. They just would have to be a separate faction from the elites IMO. Also I’m using information from Halo Glasslands. The new novels are supposed to tie directly into Halo 4 and with the shape the brutes are in and thier relationship with the elites Some brutes were on elite ships at the time of the scism not very many of course. They haven’t been killed yet because they decided to be smart for once and shut up, sit down and watch all their friends burn. but if brutes are in a large enough force in Halo 4 to be a resonable ally or enemy then some peoples dropped some balls.

They told me they don’t accept american express. IWHBYD I -Yoink- you not.
Wouldn’t mind them in the game as long as they aren’t with the Storm and I definitely don’t wont them as allies. I enjoyed fighting brutes but I can’t see it working right if they miraculously join the Elites and it also wont make sense if they are allied to the UNSC, they are to vicious, dumb and savage to form an alliance with Humanity. A few remnant covenant Brute packs chasing around the Storm would be good though or perhaps merely slaves with no or little combat role; but that won’t explain the hammer.
Needless to say they should have some role.

I explained why that might happen, if the Brutes like it or not they’re the least advanced and most hated faction of the bunch, they NEED to ally themselves with someone if they want survival! And the elites might ally with the brutes in a desperate attempt to win.
Seems like they are being forced into a appearance in the game.

Brutes run on testosterone and pack mentality. Large forces of brutes would rather fling themselves at superiorly armed elites or humans than try to ally themselves with either side. A few individuals can be exploited but a full fighting force would run rampant. The way brutes would usually look at it they don’t need anyone. Thier weapons are simple enough and arent really that plasma based. They still use ballistics.
I hope they are at least partially fluffy, i like the apeish sort of enemy, but they must remain as versatile as halo 3’s, not the bullet pillows from halo 2.
I would love to have Brutes on our side , albeit temporarily . They haven’t been potrayed properly or as satisfactorily in the series so far. But the Reclaimer trilogy and future novels have some potential to correctly portray them as somewhat of a Brutal yet civilized society who will offer their help when the galaxy is indeed in a very critical stage and in need of them.
Btw a Brute War Chieftan vs A proper REAL FORERUNNER Promethean in a hand to hand fistfight is a fight I will love to watch.

Why would this faction of Covenant suddenly take an interest in Brute weaponry? The storm is run by Elites, so why would they want to scavenge off of the Brutes technology? Elites are the only species capable of using most of these weapons, and I doubt they would want to use them because they despise the Brutes, their technology, and their culture. They’re a proud and honourable species. Many Elites won’t even use human weapons in the most dire of situations, so once again, what makes you think that they’ll be tempted to pick up a gravity hammer?
It makes much more sense to simply assume that they are on Requiem and were recruited by the Storm. Though the Elites and Brutes hate each other, they might have been able to settle their differences and form a truce to fight their enemies. They both hate humanity and Thel’ Vadam for destroying the Covenant as well as the Ark and Installation 04.
> I hope they are at least partially fluffy, i like the apeish sort of enemy, but they must remain as versatile as halo 3’s, not the bullet pillows from halo 2.
I disagree. I think that in Halo 3 they were as spongy as they were in Halo 2 with bullets. Except for the fact that in Halo 2, THEY ACTUALLY CHARGED YOU at a rapid pace and melee’d the heck out of you rather than run around slowly in Halo 3.
Although I have to give it to the brutes in Halo 3. They had body armor and the brutes in Halo 2 didn’t.
OT: I hope that brutes will be in Halo 4. They were never my favorite but their debut in Halo 2 and reappearance in Halo 3 has assured them as a part of the Halo face (franchise).
Besides, I think it’s fun to shoot them.
I hope they appear,They are my favorite covenant race. The Gravity Hammer is now confirmed,So maybe…
