After seeing all these topics on other weapons (magnum, Spartan Laser, etc.) I thought I would make this topic on the Bruteshot. It’s just a simple question.
Would you like to see the Bruteshot return as a weapon in Halo 4?
I guess it may fall into battle with the concussion rifle or grenade launcher…

Ah… the Brute Shot.
In Halo 3, I really started to love that thing. There was nothing more hilarious than blasting Mongoose riders with Brute Shot grenades and then beating them to death with the blade.

Anyway, the Concussion Rifle was boring compared to the Brute Shot. A gun that shoots balls of plasma? We have plenty of those. It was basically a cross between the Plasma Rifle and the Fuel Rod that was coloured orange. It was an unnecessary addition of Reach, considering it did exactly what the Brute Shot did. Furthermore, taking away the Brute Shot took away part of what made Brutes special. The Brute Shot was the original Brute weapon! Taking away the Spike Grenade is one thing, but the Brute Shot was iconic to Brutes.
I know they’re pretty much the same weapon, but I would prefer the Brute Shot. It looks cooler, has much more connection to previous Halo games, and has a gigantic freakin’ blade on it.
I didn’t really like it as much as the Concussion Rifle or Grenade Launcher.
Yeah would be nice. It did supply a lot of aspects of Halo 3 like with HLG and other hidden high places in campaign and maps. It was nice to take down vehicles too. But i honestly wont cry either way if its not in Halo 4 or not.

The Brute Shot is a fantastic and classic weapon that I’d love to see return in Halo 4.

I hope at least one signature weapon from each Covy race returns. The majority of enemy weapons would belong to the new enemy but some should be returning from the covy sandbox
Brute shot H2 style would be my choice for Brutes
I would like the brute shot to return in halo 4, maybe 343 will do what they did with the BR and DMR make both of them in the game. Possibly the same with consession rifle and brute shot? Maybe?
Concussion rifle can move AI better and just feels and looks better. I’d rather see that weapon return. Also, it’s fun dodging concussion rifle spamming Ultras.
Brute shot was only good as a substitute for grenade jumps. I never really enjoyed blasting enemies with the Brute shot nor did I enjoy getting killed by 2 or 3 shots from a Brute whereas the concussion rifle isn’t that bad.
I no longer mind the damage reduction the concussion rifle suffers from (although it is ridiculous how enemies do more damage with it). The blast radius is kinda absurd but I can tolerate it.

I really like the Brute Shot. It should absolutely make a return in Halo 4. I think the concussion rifle is nothing compared to it. The brute shot is much better and would be nice if it were to return. Since 343 is bringing so many weapons back maybe it will be brought back. Probably will be a personal drop weapon if it does. (seeing how the needler is…)
I would prefer the Concussion Rifle.
I didn’t really use either of them, but I used the concussion rifle more and I think the best part was watching people try to jump out of its blast radius. So I would really only care if it was implemented into the Multiplayer otherwise I’m indifferent.

I’m with you, brother. I teared up when I realized a combination of two things: I couldn’t jump over things and the brute shot was gone. Those two together led me to HLG, ninja’ing (with felt so satisfying with a bruteshot being used), and messing up vehicles on Valhalla.
the Phantoms still shoot the Concussion Rifle shots, so I’m going to say the Concussion Rifle is in the game, which I don’t like.
the Concussion Rifle is a wannabe of the Brute Shot and is overall just annoying. it takes 5-6 shots, you bounce around the whole time, then die; really annoying.
the Brute Shot has first off, a giant Yoinking! blade on the thing! secondly, it pushed boxes and vehicles around like soccer ball, but wasn’t annoying when you got hit by one. it doesn’t take 5-6 shots. mostly 4-5 shots; not much difference, but just more pleasing kill.
the Brute Shot is amazing and needs to return, and the Concussion Rifle just needs to go (and slow down how fast the Phantom shoots, for real; again, it’s more annoying and it’s just flicking your ear the whole time until you die).
though if a blade was put onto the Concussion Rifle, I’d be a little more happy, but barely.
I hope to see the Brute Shot in Halo 4. But no tears will be shed if it is not.
Even better question are we even going to see Brutes in this game?
