HALO 4 BR -VS- DMR

From what i know (and i may be wrong, fingers crossed) both the BR and the DMR require
5-headshots to kill.

With the accuracy and range displayed by the Reach DMR, i think the DMR will be everyone’s preferred weapon due to the BR’s limited range in HALO 3.

This only stands of course if both the DMR and the BR retain realativly simmilar maximum ranges in Halo 4

im hoping someone will reply and prove me wrong. =)

Technically, it’s 4 bodyshots followed by a headshot.

Generally speaking, you should start aiming at the body if you know you are the only one engaging the target, then move to the head for the last shot or two.

But go for headshots when you meet a target who is already under fire or recovering, you might break their shields earlier than expected.

That aside, I think the BR should be a 4sk or the DMR should have a firecap that keeps its killtimes in line with the DMR at most ranges.

People who have played Halo 4 say that the BR is superior to the DMR up close, and the DMR is superior at long ranges. That’s how it should be. No universal weapons. If you pick up a Storm Rifle, you’ll own with it if you’re good enough.

The BR has a better accuracy and firing rate in mid range battles. The DMR is a long range weapon which shows a reticule expansion, but what many are confusing is that the DMR does not have bloom. The reticule must reset before it can be fired again, the reticule expansion and reset is now just a timing mechanism to let you know when it can be fired again. Granted, this could change before launch, but I highly doubt it.

LIGHT RIFLE! What now??
