In my opinion Halo 4 big team games are more fun than Halo 5 big team type games.
The stupid thing is that I think Halo arena type games have suffered because I think 343 have tried to hard to make Halo 5 be playable with warzone and big team slayer games. Whenever I play arena games (small map) it feels like i’m a dwarf because the doors and buildings are so oversized.
Anyone else feel that Halo 4 is more fun than Halo 5 with regard to big team type games?
Halo 4 BTB split screen with a friend was the best Halo experience. And its never coming back. But hey we can play forge maps with a few low level vehicles
Well H4 had way better BTB maps. It’s not even that the btb maps in h5 are forge made. The majority of them just aren’t good maps. The remakes are ok but I still prefer the H4 maps over the H5 maps.
Halo 4 btb, where vehicles were useless because everyone had 2 stickies and a plasma pistol in their pocket, as well as the quasi sniper known as the DMR?
I prefer H5 with even starts and power weapon respawns. H4 was a mess with ordinance drops and loadouts.

Don’t forget Survivor…
We just need some better maps (maybe some official ones from 343 rather than community Forge ones)…
Umm no Halo 4 btb was aweful. Vehicles were useless because everyone had plasma pistols and plasma grenades, you could spawn a DMR that had an insane amount of range and was incredibly easy to use, maps weren’t open enough. Halo 3 on the other hand was amazing for btb because the maps were so much more open and vehicles were required in order to win.
I had a dedicated BTB loadout in H4- DMR, PP and stickies and a perk that would give me 3 of them. That’s broken in BTB. No way is H4 BTB better in anyway.

^ this.
Also, I would have agreed with you, OP, if you asked when BTB first launched. I didn’t care for it then. Not sure why, but I wasn’t having any of it. But lately, it’s like 70% of what I play in Halo 5. Sure, the vehicle play now is mostly what I call “Ghost Trolling” (where you just boost back and forth across the map and hope for spatters or just tail people and pin them down behind cover … it’s a little annoying, lol).
But that’s not to say Halo 4’s BTB wasn’t fun. It was. Even with all the loadout issues. The thing with Halo 4, if you play it for what it is, which for me is acknowledging that it strayed a little too far with the loadouts and perks, don’t expect it to be like the other games, and think of it like “Arcade Halo”, you can still have a good time with it. It’s a good game, it’s just not something you can really compare to the other games (except Reach, it’s just as bad with its preset loadouts with stickies and camo and armor lock). Especially not when you can pull plasma grenades out your bum every time you spawn. Or a plasma pistol. Or have an Incinerator Canon fall from the sky to your feet.
But I recently played a bunch of Halo 4 BTB in the MCC (I was hoping for CE, but no one votes for that) and I would take Halo 5’s BTB over that ANY day. The only thing Halo 4 has on Halo 5 is maps. I still like Halo 4, though. It’s still a fun game, it just strayed a bit too far in some aspects.
Halo Reach’s and 4’s BTB were some of my favorite experiences I had in Halo. Halo 5’s BTB just seems to lack that magic that the older iterations had that made them so fun.

You know lime actually large open maps that were meant for vehicle play.
