I am sick of always being betrayed by my teammates. Whether they betray me by accident, or intentionally. But most of the time it is intentional. A very common reason I get betrayed is because I have a power weapon (usually a sniper) and some person thinks he can use it better. Maybe he can use it slightly better but that is no good reason to betray me or anyone. And it’s not only the sniper that I get betrayed for, I get betrayed for my rockets, swords, spartan laser, etc.
But for me the betrayals were at their worst this weekend. I got betrayed almost at the end of the game with a potential perfection. And not only did this happen once, this happened THREE TIMES THIS WEEKEND! I have never been more mad at Halo: Reach gamers. I didn’t even get the chance to boot them. I’m sure i’m not the only one this happened to.
So my point is to take away betrayals from slayer gametypes. If their were no betrayals, no one that has a potential perfection, or a power weapon has to tip toe around their teammates.
I know this might take away some tactical depth, but how often are you really trying to avoid getting a betrayal with for example grenades, or a rocket launcher. I find that accidental betrayals are a small percentage of overall betrayals (from my experience). I don’t think getting rid of betrayals in slayer game types will greatly affect the multiplayer experience. It can stay in cetain gametypes just to add some tactical depth, but should stay away from slayer gametypes since there are alot more intentional betrayals in them. This can be toggled in custom games and if there are ranked playlists, betrayals should still be activated. Do you agree?

i agree with this but remember some player are terrible and just want achievements or accommodations so they have to have the bigger weapon
I’ve always considered betrayals to be a nuisance more than a necessity so I honestly don’t care whether or not they’ll be in halo 4’s multiplayer or not.
Oh God no. Betrayals are the only thing preventing idiot grenades from reaching an unbearable level. People need to be punished for doing dumb things like throwing grenades or firing rockets at/near their teammates.
You won’t have to worry about being betrayed if you find a few friends and search in a party.
As a person who has been betrayed before getting a perfection, or for my weapon, I can not disagree more. Betrayals are a necessary part of Slayer. The betrayal system? yes, that could use some fixing.
I would like a betrayal cam with options to increase respawn time or instantly kill the player that betrayed you. This system would still allow booting too.

This ^
I’ve been betrayed on purpose 1 away from an unfriggenbelievable, but i still think friendly fire is a classic feature and people should be punished for failing with nades\rockets(even sniper ricochets at times)

This will make you really make you guys happy 343 has decided to take betrayal off, that’s right there is no betrayal in halo 4 you can thank 343 industries for that. HOORAH!!!
!!!
I know how you feel, but getting rid of betrayals for TS isnt an option…
Too many bad tactics would be used, such as rocketing your teamate when he gets assassinated, or sticking your teammate when he walks into a room filled with enemies, only to have him survive because they didn’t kill him.
No, keep betrayals, theres nothing we can do about them.

Same.
In halo 3 yesterday I had a running riot going, and was one kill away from a rampage. And I saw an enemy running towards me. I sniped and meleed him and he meleed me, he died, and about half a second later my buddy sprayed me in the back, walked up behind me and meleed me…
I think personally that betrayals should be kept in.
But the option to boot a team mate should be altered.
Say if at the start of the game Guy A betrays Guy B for sniper
There should be an instant option to kick him from the game.
The Guy A’s of Halo are what ruin it for the rest of us.
I will always call out either in a Lobby Or when a game starts “can I have Weapon X please?”
I don’t mind taking it turns with my team to use power weapons but we stick to our strengths.
Betrayals only happen when you go in alone or without a full team.
I would suggest making a team of 4-5 or if only in a two go into doubles.
Then you will know your team mate(s) and be able to have a much better experience.
Lolno. You know how abusable no betrayals would be? I could fire the sticky detonator on an ally and have him run into the enemy for an easy kill.
This is what I believe should happen to stop betrayals:
-Ranking
-You can betray a single person 2 times, before they get the option to boot you. Does not matter if betrayals are accidental or not.
Leave betrayals in the competitive side of halo its were the tru skill of players and teams are tested but in casual playlists get rid of it serves no purpose than for those that dont even go out of there way to betray but to weaken you only to be finished of by other team.
As for making up teams that’s not always possible for everyone some of us might only get couple of hours a week to play, and have every right to enjoy the game as next person.
recently was in grifball match two guys on my team said openly over mike to other team do you mind if we betray our own team!!!
They did and spent 15 minutes getting betrayed.
Other team could have easily planted bomb 3 times just put stop to it but this is what have to deal with in halo on regular basis now.
