I encountered this player sayinghe was playing the beta I didn’t belive him but when I went onto my friends list it said playing DM on halo 4 beta?
They have done Internal Beta testing, but it sounds fishy to see it in your friends list…

Ah, I’ve seen this before.
Since there is no public Halo 4 Beta, quite a few halo players have taken to changing their Xbox Live profile name (Name not GT) to several spaces then “Playing Halo 4 Beta” or
Playing X on Halo 4 Beta".
You can tell if he is lying by checking to see if he has his name under his gamertag, if not then he simply switched his name.

His Gamertag doesn’t change though, its the sub-section below it that he changes. You know, “Name, Location Bio”? If you have anyone else on your friends list you should see that they have a name under their GT and your friend will have this huge space between the left side of your screen and “Playing Halo 4 Beta”.
Sock’s exactly right. I believe players can also change their motto to make it look like “playing halo 4 beta”.
Regardless, someone tried to scam my friend like this. We played along with it for a while, and then just reported him after he asked for MSP. If someone asks you for something in exchange for a beta key, report and move along.

So yeah…don’t buy into it, it’s most likely someone just messing with you. They change their motto and profile stuff to say that to “troll” their friends. Notice how in the picture everyone elses mottos and profile stuff are where it says he’s playing the game.
The reason they set it to “Away” is so you can’t see what game they are really playing.

Just search Image Upload, ther’s a bunch of good free ones aound the net.
So yeah, do you see that huge white (Or green, I guess) space to the left of “Playing Halo 4 Beta”? Thats all the spaces he put in, the halo 4 beta part is his name. Hes probably actually just sitting afk on the dashboard or something.
So yeah, don’t worry, hes not playing the beta he is simply trying to get his tricks and treats with a single attempt.

I believe its under symbols.
Have you tried replicating what hes done? And did you not check out the thread I posted of the guy doing essentially the same thing and explaining how/why he did it.
